''Yoshi's Cookie'' is a 1992 tile-matching puzzle video game developed by Tose and published by Nintendo for the NES and Game Boy platforms in 1992. A Super NES version was released the following year, developed and published by Bullet-Proof Software. Gameplay ''Yoshi's Cookie'' is a tile-matching video game in which the player is given a playing field populated with cookies of several types, arranged in a rectangular grid. The main objective of each level is to clear the playing field of all the cookies. The player mixes and matches the cookies such that entire rows or columns consist only of cookies of the same type. The player controls a cursor on the grid that is used to rotate individual lines in a manner similar to a Rubik's Cube. When a single row or column contains all matching cookies, the row is cleared from the grid. Gunpei Yokoi
, sometimes transliterated Gumpei Yokoi, was a Japanese video game designer. He was a long-time Nintendo employee, best known as creator of the Game & Watch handheld system, inventor of the cross-shaped Control Pad, the original designer of the Game Boy, and producer of a few long-running and critically acclaimed video game franchises such as ''Metroid'' and '' Kid Icarus''. Career Yokoi graduated from Doshisha University with a degree in electronics. He was first hired by Nintendo in 1965 to maintain the assembly-line machines used to manufacture its hanafuda cards. In 1966, Hiroshi Yamauchi, president of Nintendo at the time, came to a hanafuda factory where Yokoi was working and took notice of a toy, an extending arm that Yokoi made for his own amusement during spare time while doing maintenance. It has been published by several companies for multiple platforms, most prominently during a dispute over the appropriation of the rights in the late 1980s. After a significant period of publication by Nintendo, the rights reverted to Pajitnov in 1996, who co-founded the Tetris Company with Henk Rogers to manage licensing. Hermann Necke
Hermann Necke (8 November 1850, in Wiehe – 15 February 1912, in Leipzig) was a German composer, conductor, music director, pianist, and violinist of the Romantic period. He is best known for the galop Csikós Post, first published in 1895 as part of ''Klänge aus Ungarn'' 'Sounds from Hungary'' Opus 286. While seldom heard today, Necke's prolific output of songs, choruses, and instrumental works (upwards of 400 opus numbers) was well-known during his lifetime. Csikós Post () is a galop in the key of E minor by the German composer Hermann Necke (1850–1912). Csikós is a Hungarian mounted horse-herdsman; ''Hungarian Post'' is an acrobatic riding performance where the rider stands on the back of two horses and drives three more horses in front ( pickaxe arrangement). The melodic line in which the piece transitions to C major is a variation on a melody from Franz Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2. In computer architecture, 8-bit integers or other data units are those that are 8 bits wide (1 octet). Also, 8-bit central processing unit (CPU) and arithmetic logic unit (ALU) architectures are those that are based on registers or data buses of that size.
