GTOs, as opposed to normal thyristors, are fully controllable switches which can be turned on and off by their gate lead. is the rapid transit network in the city of Yokohama, Japan, south of Tokyo in Kanagawa pref. It is operated by Yokohama City Transportation Bureau as two lines, though three continuous lines exist. Silicon carbide (SiC), also known as carborundum (), is a hard chemical compound containing silicon and carbon.
