Football (soccer)
Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players who primarily use their feet to propel the ball around a rectangular field called a pitch. The Yemen Football Association ( ar, الاتحاد اليمني لكرة القدم) is the governing body of football in Yemen. The organisation joined FIFA in 1980 as the Yemen Arab Republic, commonly known as North Yemen. In 2005 the YFA was suspended by FIFA due to serious interference by political authorities in the internal affairs of the association, violating Article 17 of the FIFA Statutes.
