Yahya Ould Hademine
Yahya Ould Hademine ( ar, يحي ولد حدمين; born December 31, 1953) is a Mauritanian engineer and politician who served as Defence Minister of Mauritania. He served as the Prime Minister of Mauritania from August 21, 2014. to October 29, 2018. Biography Hademine was born on December 31, 1953, in Timbédra. He received his primary education in Djigueni. Hademine attended the College of Aïoun between 1967 and 1970, and later studied at the ''Lycée national de Nouakchott'' from 1971 to 1974. After moving to Canada in 1974, he earned a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the ''École Polytechnique de Montréal'' in 1979. After moving back to Mauritania, he began working for the '' Société nationale industrielle et minière'' (SNIM), which mines for iron in Mauritania, and he became head of a steel mill in 1979. 2008 Mauritanian Coup D'état
The 2008 Mauritanian coup d'état was a military coup that took place in Mauritania on August 6, 2008, when President Sidi Ould Cheikh Abdallahi was ousted from power by the Armed Forces of Mauritania, led by a group of high-ranking generals he had dismissed from office earlier that day. Background General Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz was one of the leading figures in the August 2005 coup that ended Maaouya Ould Sid'Ahmed Taya's 21 years in power. Aziz backed Abdallahi's candidacy in the subsequent March 2007 presidential election, which Abdallahi won.
