Xu Yongchang
General Xu Yongchang (15 December 188512 July 1959) (Hsu Yung-chang; ; style name: Cichen (Tzu-chen)) was the Minister of Board of Military Operations of the Republic of China between December 22, 1948, and April 22, 1949, and the representative of the Republic of China on September 2, 1945, at the signing of the Instrument of Surrender of Japan that ended World War II. Xu Yongchang graduated from the Beijing Military Institute and later became the General Commander of the 3rd Army under Feng Yü-hsiang and the 20th Route Jin Army under Yen Hsi-shan. He was the Chairman of Shanxi province at the time of Mukden Incident, and served in the National Revolutionary Army as the Chief Operations Supreme Staff. Yuanping City
Yuanping is a county-level city under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Xinzhou, in north-central Shanxi Province, China. History The territory of present-day Yuanping was held by Zhao during the Warring States Period of Chinese history. Under the Qin, it was part of Taiyuan Prefecture. It became in 114BC under Emperor Wu of the Han. It became in Jian'an 15 during the Eastern Han. Three years later, its name was restored as Yuanping County but it was moved to Yanmen Commandery. Feng Yü-hsiang
Feng Yuxiang (; ; 6 November 1882 – 1 September 1948), courtesy name Huanzhang (焕章), was a warlord and a leader of the Republic of China from Chaohu, Anhui. He served as Vice Premier of the Republic of China from 1928 to 1930. He was also known as the "Christian General" for his zeal to convert his troops and the "Traitorous General" for his penchant to break with the establishment. In 1911 he was an officer in the ranks of Yuan Shikai's Beiyang Army but joined forces with revolutionaries against the Qing dynasty. He rose to high rank within Wu Peifu's Zhili warlord faction but launched the Beijing Coup in 1924 that knocked Zhili out of power and brought Sun Yat-sen to Beijing.
