Xu Yaoyuan
Xu Yaoyuan (; born December 1952) is a retired general of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA). He served as Political Commissar of the PLA Academy of Military Science and was a member of the 18th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. Biography Xu was born in Wujiang County, Jiangsu in December 1952. He enlisted in the PLA in 1969, and served in the 23rd Army. In 1997 he entered the PLA General Political Department (GPD); in 2004 he was put in charge of the cadres department of the GPD. In 2007 he became assistant to the director of the Department. PLA General Political Department
The People's Liberation Army General Political Department (GPD; ) was the former chief political organ under the Central Military Commission of Chinese Communist Party. It led all political activities in the People's Liberation Army. Its former director-generals include Liu Shaoqi, Luo Ronghuan, Tan Zheng, Xiao Hua, Li Desheng, Zhang Chunqiao, Wei Guoqing, Yu Qiuli, Yang Baibing, Yu Yongbo, Xu Caihou, and Li Jinai. 18th Central Committee Of The Chinese Communist Party
The 18th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party was elected by the 18th National Congress on 15 November 2012, and sat in plenary sessions until the communing of the 19th National Congress in 2017. It was formally proceeded by the 17th Central Committee. The committee is composed of full members and alternate members. A member has voting rights, while an alternate does not.
