Xu Xiaoxiang
Xu Xiaoxiang (11 January 1832 – ?), born Xu Xin, courtesy name Xinyi and art name Diexian, was a Qing dynasty ''kunqu'' and Peking opera artist based in Beijing. He specialized in portraying '' xiaosheng'' roles, or younger gentlemen. His best known roles included Zhou Yu in ''Meeting of Heroes'' (), Xu Xian in ''Legend of the White Snake'', and Liu Mengmei in ''The Peony Pavilion''. He was a member of the famed Three Celebrations Troupe led by Cheng Changgeng. Biography Xu Xiaoxiang's biographical information mainly came from his student Cao Xinquan (). According to Cao, Xu Xiaoxiang was born as Xu Xin in Wu County, Suzhou, Jiangsu, though his ancestral home was Changzhou, Jiangsu. When he was still a child, he went to the Qing dynasty capital Beijing to learn Peking opera, receiving his first trainings in Yinxiu Hall (). Xu Xin (Judaic Scholar)
Xu Xin (; born June 16, 1949) is a professor at Nanjing University and China's leading Judaic scholar, as well as the founder and director of Institute of Jewish Studies (Nanjing), the Diane and Guilford Glazer Institute for Jewish and Israel Studies at Nanjing University in Nanjing, China. Until 1986, he taught mostly English literature, English and American literature with a focus on American Jewish authors. Since 1986, he has focused on the study of Judaism, Jewish culture, and the history of the Jews in China, history of Chinese Jews. Education and professional life Xu was born in Jinan (Shandong province) in 1949 and graduated from Nanjing University in 1977 as an English major. He became a faculty member the same year. Xu Xin (; born 8 January 1990) is a Chinese professional table tennis player who is currently ranked world No. 108 as of December 2022 for men's singles by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). He first reached his career-high singles ranking of world No. 1 in January 2013. He has won 17 World Tour Singles titles and has won the World Championships in men's doubles thrice, mixed doubles twice, and five times in the team event. In addition, Xu Xin along with Ma Long and Zhang Jike won the men's team gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Playing style and equipment Xu Xin is one of the few penhold grip players in China, especially among the younger generation who are mostly shakehand players. Xu Xin (; ; born 19 April 1994) is a Chinese professional footballer who currently plays for Chinese Super League club Shanghai Port. Club career Xu Xin started his football career when he joined Tianjin Teda's youth academy in 2006. After switching to Shanghai Shenhua's youth academy, he then transferred to La Liga side Atlético Madrid's youth academy in 2010. On 11 May 2013, Xu was promoted to Atlético Madrid B's squad and made his debut for the club on 12 May 2013 in a 1–0 loss against CD Marino, coming on as a substitute for Vicente Romero in the 66th minute.
