Xavier Pascual Vives
Xavier "Xavi" Pascual i Vives, commonly known as Xavi Pascual, (born 9 September 1972) is a Spanish professional basketball coach who is the head coach for Zenit Saint Petersburg of the VTB United League and EuroLeague. On 9 May 2010 he became the youngest head coach to win the EuroLeague championship (only counting the Euroleague Basketball Company era, since the year 2000), and soon after, he also won the EuroLeague Coach of the Year Award. Coaching career Early years The first team Pascual coached was Gavà (1990–91). Other teams that he coached early in his career were: Cornellà, Santfeliuenc, Olesa, and Aracena. The Greek Basketball Cup or Hellenic Basketball Cup (Greek language, Greek: Κύπελλο Ελλάδος καλαθοσφαίρισης ανδρών) is the top-tier level annual pro basketball national cup competition in Greece. The 2007–08 Euroleague was the 8th season of the professional basketball competition for elite clubs throughout Europe, organised by Euroleague Basketball Company, and it was the 51st season of the premier competition for European men's clubs overall. The 2007–08 season featured 24 competing teams. The Euroleague Regular Season draw was held on 30 June 2007, in Jesolo, Italy, during the inaugural Euroleague summer league. Duško Ivanović
Duško Ivanović (born September 1, 1957) is a Montenegrin professional basketball coach and former player who currently serves as head coach for Crvena zvezda of the Adriatic League and the EuroLeague. Professional playing career As a player, Ivanović started his career with Jedinstvo Bijelo Polje. He played with Budućnost, Jugoplastika, Valvi Girona, Limoges CSP, and Fribourg Olympic. With Jugoplastika, he won two consecutive EuroLeague championships, in 1989 and 1990. Coaching career Ivanović's coaching career started with Sisley Fribourg, in the 1993–94 season, where he was both a player and an assistant coach, working as a player-coach. The Spanish basketball league system is a series of connected competitions for professional basketball clubs in Spain. The system has a hierarchical format with a promotion and relegation system between competitions at different levels. Liga Española de Baloncesto Aficionado (EBA), commonly known as Liga EBA, is a Spanish basketball championship that is the fourth tier level in the Spanish basketball league system, after the Liga ACB, LEB Oro, and LEB Plata. It is administered by the FEB. It was previously the Spanish second tier level competition from 1994 to 1996, the third tier level from 1996 to 2000, and the fifth tier level, from 2007 to 2009. The Liga EBA is made up of five inter-regional groups. After the regular season, sixteen teams advance to the playoffs, where only four teams are promoted to the LEB Plata. EuroLeague Coach Of The Year Award
The Alexander Gomelsky EuroLeague Coach of the Year is an annual award of Europe's premier level basketball league, the EuroLeague, that is given to each season's best head coach. The award was first introduced in the 2004–05 season. The winner of the award receives the Alexander Gomelsky Trophy, named after the Russian head basketball coach, who among other achievements, led Rīgas ASK to three consecutive EuroLeague titles, between 1958 and 1960, before adding one more with CSKA Moscow in 1971. Pini Gershon was the first recipient of the award, after winning the 2005 EuroLeague title with Maccabi Tel Aviv. Željko Obradović has won the award three times.
