XHWA-FM
XHWA-FM is a radio station on 98.5 FM in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. It is owned by Avanradio and currently operated by Grupo Radio Digital and carries its "Soy FM" pop format. History XHWA received its concession on April 14, 1987. It was originally owned by Gloria Alicia Iñiguez Torres but sold in the 1990s to Avanradio. The One FM dance format this station had prior to 2019 was later exported to Veracruz on Avanradio's XHFM 94.9. It ended its run May 31, 2019, as GRD took over and flipped the station to Exa FM. Xalapa
Xalapa or Jalapa (, ), officially Xalapa-Enríquez (), is the capital city of the Mexican state of Veracruz and the name of the surrounding municipality. In the 2005 census the city reported a population of 387,879 and the municipality of which it serves as municipal seat reported a population of 413,136. The municipality has an area of 118.45 km2. Xalapa lies near the geographic center of the state and is the second-largest city in the state after the city of Veracruz to the southeast. Etymology The name ''Xalapa'' comes from the Classical Nahuatl roots (, 'sand') and (, 'place of water'), which means approximately 'spring in the sand'. XHFM-FM is a radio station in Veracruz, Veracruz, Mexico. It broadcasts on 94.9 FM. History XEFM-AM 1010 received its concession in 1963 and was originally owned by José L. Bravo. Despite this, it was part of the growing broadcast empire of Carlos Ferráez Matos, which also grew to include new television station XHFM-TV channel 2, one of the first affiliates of Televisión Independiente de México Televisión Independiente de México (''Independent Mexican Television'', known on air as TIM or Cadena TIM) was a Mexican national television network founded in 1965 by Eugenio Garza Sada. XHPR-FM in Veracruz, Veracruz, Mexico is a radio station broadcasting on 101.7 FM. It is known as Soy FM. History XHPR began operations on 101.3 MHz some time after receiving its concession in 1965. It was owned by Emmy Pinto Reyes, who also obtained the original concession for XHEM-FM XHEM-FM (103.5 MHz) is a Mexican radio station licensed to Ciudad Juárez.
