Televisa Regional is a unit of Televisa, Grupo Televisa which owns and operates television stations across Mexico. The stations rebroadcast programming from its subsidiary TelevisaUnivision (United States), TelevisaUnivision's other networks, and they engage in the local production of newscasts and other programs. Televisa Regional stations all have their own distinct branding, except for those that are Nueve (Mexican TV network), Nu9ve affiliates and brand as "Nu9ve ". Nueve (English: Nine) (stylized Nu9ve) is a Mexican free-to-air television network owned by TelevisaUnivision. The primary station and network namesake is Channel 9 of Mexico City (also known by its call sign XEQ-TDT), though the network has nationwide coverage on Televisa stations and some affiliates. XHFW-TDT
XHFW-TDT is an independent television station in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico. It is owned by Grupo Flores. History XHFW came to air on analog channel 9 on March 8, 1971; the inaugural program on that first day featured the Fight of the Century boxing match. The station was owned by the Flores family alongside two AM radio stations, XHFW-FM, XEFW-AM 810 and XHTW-FM, XETW-AM 860; the company started a third station, XHON-FM, in 1980. The station aired programming from Mexico City stations, first from Televisión Independiente de México and then from Televisa's Canal 5 (Mexico), Canal 5 after TIM merged with Telesistema Mexicano. In most telecommunications organizations, a virtual channel is a method of remapping the ''program number'' as used in H.222 Program Association Tables and Program Mapping Tables to a channel number that can be entered via digits on a receiver's remote control. Tampico is a city and port in the southeastern part of the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico. The Program and System Information Protocol (PSIP) is the MPEG (a video and audio industry group) and privately defined program-specific information originally defined by General Instrument for the DigiCipher 2 system and later extended for the ATSC digital television system for carrying metadata about each channel in the broadcast MPEG transport stream of a television station and for publishing information about television programs so that viewers can select what to watch by title and description. Its FM radio equivalent is Radio Data System (RDS). Foro (English: "Forum"), is a broadcast news television channel owned by TelevisaUnivision. It is seen on most Mexican cable systems and full-time on two stations in Mexico, including XHTV-TDT in Mexico City, with selected programs airing on Televisa Regional and Televisa local stations. Foro is available on most Mexican cable and fiber-optic systems and the SKY Mexico satellite service, as well as on several national cable systems in the United States. History FOROtv launched on cable and satellite on February 15, 2010, and marked Televisa's return to the cable news business after operating the Noticias ECO service between 1988 and 2001.
