XHMSN-FM is a radio station in Cadereyta, Nuevo León, serving Monterrey. Broadcasting on 96.5 FM, XHMSN is owned by Grupo Mass Comunicaciones and carries a news/talk format known as Dominio FM. History The concession history for XHMSN begins in Montemorelos, Nuevo León, Montemorelos, where the Gámez family founded XHERN-FM, XERN-AM Radio Naranjera in 1964. Thirty years later, Jorge Álvaro Gámez González received a concession for a second station there, XHMSN-FM 100.1. In its final years in Montemorelos it carried the Ke Buena name and a grupera format. In 2012, Grupo Mass Communications applied to move XHMSN into the Monterrey metropolitan area on 96.5 with a major power increase to 100 kW. With the move to a transmitter in Cadereyta, XHMSN changed to the Dominio FM news/talk format. References

XHERN-FM
XHERN-FM is a radio station on 100.9 FM in Montemorelos, Nuevo León. The station is owned by Grupo Mass Comunicaciones and is known as Radio Naranjera. History XERN-AM received its concession on July 21, 1967. It broadcast as a daytimer on 950 kHz with 1 kW. In the 1990s, it increased its power to 5 kW and began broadcasting with 1 kW at night. In the 1990s and 2000s, XERN had a sister station on FM in Montemorelos, XHMSN-FM 100.1. That station was moved into Monterrey and now broadcasts on 96.5 MHz in that city. Montemorelos, Nuevo León
Montemorelos is a city and surrounding municipality of 60,829 inhabitants located in the Northern Mexican state of Nuevo León, in the valley of the Pilon River. It was named after José María Morelos. History In 1637, Governor Martín de Zavala promised a large tract of land in central Nuevo León to Captain Alonso de León on condition that, in less than a year, a colonial settlement is built and populated inside its borders. De León distributed the estate to his children and one of them, Alonso de León González ("The younger"), established his property in the northern banks of the Pilón River, organized an outpost and dedicated it to Our Lady of Regla, a black Madonna venerated by Catholics in Chipiona, Cádiz.
