X Factor (Poland Series 1)
The first season of ''X Factor'' premiered on 6 March 2011 at 20:00 on TVN. The auditions for this season were held in January and February. Jarosław Kuźniar hosts the show and the judges are Czesław Mozil, Maja Sablewska and Kuba Wojewódzki. The series was won by Gienek Loska who was mentored by Czesław Mozil. The second place was taken by Michał Szpak and the third finalist was Ada Szulc. Filming of the first season began with the first audition with judges and audience on 24 January in Zabrze. The live shows began on 24 April and the finale was broadcast on 5 June. Selection process Auditions The first stage of the show were pre-auditions, held in four major cities across Poland. The candidates sang two chosen songs a cappella in the pre-auditions, where they were judged by the show's producers only. Gienek Loska
Gienek Loska or Henadzi Loska ( be, Генадзій Лоска; 8 January 1975 – 9 September 2020) was a Polish singer-songwriter and guitarist born in Byelaazyorsk in Belarus who rose to fame after winning the first series of ''X Factor'' in 2011. Since his arrival to Poland in early 1990s, he lived in Białystok, Kraków and from 2004 in Wrocław, Poland. Loska was the co-founder and longtime member of the blues-rock band ''Seven B''. He was a leading singer and guitarist of ''Gienek Loska Band''. He was also known to the public due to his repeated performances on streets of bigger Polish cities. In 2009 he was invited to make a record with Alek Mrozek, a known Polish composer. "You Can Leave Your Hat On" is a song written by Randy Newman and appearing on his 1972 album '' Sail Away''. According to a retrospective AllMusic review by Mark Deming, the song is a "potent mid-tempo rock tune" and a "witty and willfully perverse bit of erotic absurdity". "A Night like This" is the second single by Caro Emerald, taken from the album ''Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor''. It was released on 11 December 2009 in the Netherlands after it was first presented in an online Martini commercial on 16 October.
