Jorge Lopes Bom Jesus (born 26 July 1962), also known as JBJ, is a Santomean linguist and politician who was the 17th Prime Minister of São Tomé and Príncipe from 3 December 2018 to 10 November 2022. He is a member of the Movement for the Liberation of São Tomé and Príncipe/Social Democratic Party (MLSTP-PSD). Biography Jorge Lopes Bom Jesus was born on 26 July 1962, in Conceição, Água Grande district, in São Tomé and Príncipe. In his youth, he went to Europe. He graduated in French and Portuguese literature, with a master's degree in Portuguese and a specialization in African literature, from the University of Toulouse in France. Force For Change Democratic Movement – Liberal Party
The Force for Change Democratic Movement-Liberal Party ( pt, Movimento Democrático das Forças da Mudança-Partido Liberal) is a former political party in São Tomé and Príncipe. It was formed after the 29 July 2001 presidential elections by supporters of the elected president Fradique de Menezes. Tomé Vera Cruz became the party's first Secretary General. At the legislative elections, 3 March 2002, the party won together with the Democratic Convergence Party-Reflection Group 39.4% of the popular vote and 23 out of 55 seats. The same alliance won at the legislative election, held on 26 March 2006, 36.79% and 23 out of 55 seats. Elsa Maria Teixeira de Barros Pinto is a São Tomé and Príncipe politician, and the country's former Defence and Justice Minister and from December 2018 until September 2020 Foreign Minister. In 2003 and 2004 (at least), she was a member of the Council of Ministers, as Secretary of State for Administrative Reform and Public Administration, and was a member of the Movement for the Liberation of São Tomé and Príncipe/Social Democratic Party (MLSTP-PSD) political party.
