X-Force (comic Book)
''X-Force '' is an ongoing comic book series featuring the fictional superhero team of the same name, published by Marvel Comics in various incarnations beginning in 1991. Publication history ''X-Force'' Volume 1: 1991–2001 Liefeld period X-Force was created by illustrator Rob Liefeld after he started penciling ''The New Mutants'' comic book in 1989 with #86. The popularity of Liefeld's art led to him taking over the plotting duties on the book. With help from writer Fabian Nicieza, who provided the dialogue for Liefeld's plots, Liefeld transformed the New Mutants into X-Force in ''New Mutants'' #100, the book's final issue. Liefeld and Nicieza launched ''X-Force'' in August 1991. Rob Liefeld obtained the name for the series from an unknown artist at a convention a few months prior to its release. Rob Liefeld
Robert Liefeld (; born October 3, 1967) is an American comic book creator. A prominent writer and artist in the 1990s, he is known for co-creating the character Cable (comics), Cable with writer Louise Simonson and the character Deadpool with writer Fabian Nicieza. In the early 1990s, Liefeld gained popularity due to his work on Marvel Comics' ''New Mutants, The New Mutants'' and later ''X-Force''. In 1992, he and several other popular Marvel illustrators left the company to found Image Comics, which started a wave of comic books owned by their creators rather than by publishers. Mike Allred
Michael Dalton Allred is an American comic book artist and writer most famous for his independent comics creations, ''Madman'' and ''iZombie''. His style is often compared to pop art, as well as commercial and comic art of the 1950s and 1960s. Early life Allred was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Upon his parents' divorce, he was raised with his father in Oregon, while his brothers and mother moved to Utah. He considers himself a Mormon, though a liberal-leaning one, and has stated that he still identifies with the beliefs, and considers the Book of Mormon to be a phenomenal and fascinating story, irrespective of its factual accuracy. Career Mike Allred began his career as a radio host on KYES AM 950 (KY95) in Roseburg, Oregon. Tabitha Smith
Tabitha Smith is a fictional character, a mutant superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, commonly in association with The X-Men and related titles. Created by Jim Shooter and Al Milgrom, the character first appeared in ''Secret Wars II'' #5 (Nov. 1985). She then appeared as a member of X-Force and later as a member of Nextwave. Tabitha is mentally able to create variably-sized yellow orbs of pure energy that explode with concussive and destructive force. X-Force
X-Force is a fictional team of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, most commonly in association with the X-Men. Conceived by writer/illustrator Rob Liefeld, the team first appeared in ''New Mutants#New Mutants Vol. 1, New Mutants'' #100 (April 1991) and soon afterwards was featured in its own series called ''X-Force (comic book), X-Force''. Comic Book
A comic book, also called comicbook, comic magazine or (in the United Kingdom and Ireland) simply comic, is a publication that consists of comics art in the form of sequential juxtaposed panels that represent individual scenes. Panels are often accompanied by descriptive prose and written narrative, usually, dialogue contained in word balloons emblematic of the comics art form. "Comic Cuts" was a British comic published from 1890 to 1953. It was preceded by "Ally Sloper's Half Holiday" (1884) which is notable for its use of sequential cartoons to unfold narrative. Ongoing Series
In comics, an ongoing series is a series that runs indefinitely. This is in contrast to limited series (a series intended to end after a certain number of issues thus limited), a one shot (a comic book which is not a part of an ongoing series), a graphic novel, or a trade paperback. However, a series of graphic novels may be considered ongoing as well. The term may also informally refer to a current or incomplete limited series with a predetermined number of issues. Characteristics An ongoing series is traditionally published on a fixed schedule, typically monthly or bimonthly but many factors can cause an issue to be published late. Sonia Oback is an American comic book colorist who is best known for her work on the Top Cow Productions series ''Witchblade''. Career Oback started on ''Witchblade'' with issue #75, in a back-up story assisting Brian Buccellato. In 2006, she worked on '' X23: Target X''. Marie Javins
Marie Javins (born April 22, 1966) is an American comic book editor, comic book colorist, and travel writer known for her long association with Marvel Comics and the Teshkeel Media Group. As of 2020, Javins is editor-in-chief of DC Comics. Career Javins attended Antioch College and interned at Marvel Comics and Epic Comics. After graduation, she was hired as an editorial assistant and secretary for Mark Gruenwald. Javins became a full editor at Marvel and Epic Comics in the early nineties, editing projects such as Akira, Groo, and Alex Ross's ''Earth X''. She also colored more than 2,000 pages. In 2001 Javins left Marvel to launch an around-the-world online project called MariesWorldTour.com. She circumnavigated the globe twice, documenting her journeys extensively.
