X-Dreams
''X-Dreams'' is the second solo album by Annette Peacock, released in 1978. Peacock had spent the previous four years recording material for the album in various studios. She recalled that a total of 22 musicians participated in the creation of the album: "most of them had never played together, and all the tracks were first takes. It was very exciting." Mick Ronson played on tracks 1, 5, 6 and 7. Peacock reflected: "There was an understanding between Mick and I, a mutual respect and admiration." In an interview, Peacock stated that she approached the creation of the album as if it were two singles, "like each side was one piece... and the relationship between the two sides was important." Side A (tracks 1–3) was "very hard and aggressive," while side B (tracks 4–7) was "very romantic and kind of sweet." The Perfect Release
''The Perfect Release'' is an album by Annette Peacock. It was recorded in London, and was released in 1979 by Aura Records. On the album, Peacock is joined by guitarist Robert Ahwai, keyboardist Max Middleton, bassist John McKenzie, drummer Richard Bailey, and percussionists Darryl Lee Que and Lennox Laington. In an interview, Peacock stated that she had heard Jeff Beck's album '' Blow by Blow'' prior to its release, and decided she wanted to record with the band. (Middleton and Bailey both appeared on Beck's album.) The contents of the album were reissued by Sanctuary Records on the 2004 compilation '' My Mama Never Taught Me How to Cook: The Aura Years 1978–1982''. Annette Peacock
Annette Peacock is an American composer, musician, songwriter, producer, and arranger. She is a pioneer in electronic music who combined her voice with one of the first Moog synthesizers in the late 1960s. Biography Annette Peacock was writing music by the time she was four years old. She is self-taught except for her time as a student at The Juilliard School in the early 1970s. She grew up in California. She moved to New York to marry jazz bassist Gary Peacock in 1960. I'm The One (Annette Peacock Album)
''I'm the One'' is the debut solo album by Annette Peacock and was released by RCA in 1972. In 2010 Peacock remastered and reissued it on her label, ironic US, in a signed, collector's edition. In 2012, the album was reissued again by the Future Days imprint of Light in the Attic Records. ''I'm the One'' fuses blues, jazz, avant-garde electronic music (including extensive treatment of her own voice through a Moog synthesizer) and free form poetry and rap. It was recorded live and mostly in single takes. The coda of the David Bowie song "Something in the Air," from the album '' Hours'', paid homage to "I'm the One," a song of which Bowie was fond. Mick Ronson
Michael Ronson (26 May 1946 – 29 April 1993) was an English musician, songwriter, arranger, and producer. He achieved critical and commercial success working with David Bowie as the guitarist of the Spiders from Mars. He was a session musician who recorded five studio albums with Bowie followed by four with Ian Hunter, and also worked as a sideman in touring bands with Van Morrison and Bob Dylan. Bill Bruford
William Scott Bruford (born 17 May 1949) is an English former drummer and percussionist who first gained prominence as a founding member of the progressive rock band Yes. After leaving Yes in 1972, Bruford spent the rest of the 1970s recording and touring with King Crimson (1972–1974) and Roy Harper (1975), and touring with Genesis (1976) and U.K. (1978). In 1978, he formed his own group ( Bruford), which was active until 1980. John Halsey (musician)
John Halsey (born 23 February 1945) is a rock drummer, best known for his appearance in the television film ''All You Need is Cash'' (1978) as Barrington Womble ("Barry Wom") of The Rutles. Previous to this he had played with fellow future Rutle Neil Innes's band Fatso and appeared with them in the BBC Television comedy series, ''Rutland Weekend Television'', fronted by a third Rutle, Eric Idle. Halsey was born in Highgate, North London and grew up in North Finchley. He joined the London rhythm and blues band Felder's Orioles in 1965, who released four singles on the Piccadilly Records label. Jim Mullen
Jim Mullen (born 26 November 1945) is a Scottish, Glasgow-born jazz guitarist with a distinctive style, like Wes Montgomery before him, picking with the thumb rather than a plectrum. Biography Jim Mullen was guitarist with Pete Brown & Piblokto! for two albums in 1970. He then played with Brian Auger's Oblivion Express, appearing on the band's first three albums together with future Average White Band drummer Robbie McIntosh. Mullen then joined Kokomo and later toured with the Average White Band.
