X-23 (2018 Series)
''X-23'' is a 2018 comic book series published by Marvel Comics. It is the fourth volume entitled X-23. Publication history In June 2015, it was announced that following that year's "Secret Wars" storyline, Laura would take on the Wolverine mantle, as the main character in the series ''All-New Wolverine'', by writer Tom Taylor and artist David López, and wearing a costume resembling Wolverine's but with the return of the original Wolverine her title was ended and a new volume was launched under ''X-23'' written by Mariko Tamaki and drawn by Juann Cabal. Tamaki said, "This is a story about being in the very weird kind of family that someone like Laura finds herself in. It’s about what it means to wrestle with legacy and identity when you were created to be a weapon and not someone with a birthday and a sister." In comics, an ongoing series is a series that runs indefinitely. This is in contrast to limited series (a series intended to end after a certain number of issues thus limited), a one shot (a comic book which is not a part of an ongoing series), a graphic novel, or a trade paperback. However, a series of graphic novels may be considered ongoing as well. The term may also informally refer to a current or incomplete limited series with a predetermined number of issues. Characteristics An ongoing series is traditionally published on a fixed schedule, typically monthly or bimonthly but many factors can cause an issue to be published late. Jonathan Hickman
Jonathan Hickman (born September 3, 1972) is an American comic book writer and artist, best known for his creator-owned series '' The Nightly News'', '' The Manhattan Projects'' and ''East of West'', as well as his lengthy stints as a writer on Marvel's ''Fantastic Four'', '' The Avengers'' and '' The New Avengers''. David López (artist)
David López (born 1975 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) is a Spanish comic book artist. Biography López started his comics career in the Spanish fanzine before moving on to work on ''Espiral''. In 2002 he moved to the American comic book market. He is best known for co-creating and illustrating the first volume of the monthly series ''Fallen Angel'', which was co-created by writer Peter David, and published by DC Comics. After the series was canceled in May 2005 following its twentieth issue, it was picked up by IDW Publishing in December of that year, but Lopez did not continue on it as artist, although he did provide the covers. |
