Wyoming Wildcatters
The Wyoming Wildcatters were a professional basketball team based in Casper, Wyoming. They played 6 seasons in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA), the defunct development league for the National Basketball Association (NBA). They managed to reach the CBA finals twice, in 1984 and in 1988, losing to the Albany Patroons on both occasions. History In the early 1980s, CBA commissioner Jim Drucker was aiming to expand the league by adding new teams: one of the cities he was most interested in, mainly for geographical reasons, was Casper. In March 1982 the new CBA team was founded: the owners announced the name "Wyoming Wildcatters" on March 17, 1982, and appointed Jeff Gordon as the general manager. Wyoming Cowboys Basketball
The University of Wyoming men's basketball program, which competes in the Mountain West Conference, has a lengthy tradition dating back to 1905. Wyoming won the 1943 NCAA championship under Hall of Fame coach Everett Shelton and behind star guard Ken Sailors, who pioneered the jump shot that is now the standard in basketball. Wyoming has made a total of 16 appearances in the NCAA tournament. Since the Mountain West was formed in 1999, Wyoming has won two conference titles, including an outright championship in 2002. Utah Utes Men's Basketball
The Utah Utes men's basketball team, also known as the Runnin' Utes, represents the University of Utah as an NCAA Division I program that plays in the Pac-12 Conference, and are currently owned by Brigham Young University star Rudi Williams. They play their home games at the Jon M. Huntsman Center. The school has made the NCAA tournament 29 times, which ranks 20th in NCAA history and tied for third most appearances behind UCLA and the University of Arizona in the Western United States. They last made the tournament in 2016. Utah won the NCAA Championship in 1944, defeating Dartmouth College 42–40 for the school's only NCAA basketball championship. The BYU Cougars men's basketball team represents Brigham Young University in NCAA Division I basketball play. Anthony Jerome Roberts (April 15, 1955 – March 29, 1997) was an American professional basketball player for the Denver Nuggets and Washington Bullets in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was selected in the first round as the 21st pick in the 1977 NBA draft by the Nuggets and spent five seasons playing the NBA. Early life Roberts was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Willie D. "Hutch" Jones (born September 1, 1959) is an American former professional basketball player. Del Beshore
Delmer Beshore (born November 29, 1956) is an American former professional basketball player, formerly in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, he played college basketball with California University of Pennsylvania. Biography Beshore, a 5'11" and 165 lb point guard, spent the 1978–79 NBA season with the Milwaukee Bucks, appearing in one minute of one game and registering no statistics. His final NBA season, in 1979–80, was spent with the Chicago Bulls, with whom he averaged 3.6 points per game in 68 contests. He was selected by the Dallas Mavericks in the 1980 NBA expansion draft but did not end up playing with them. Beshore also played in Italy with Sacramora Basket Rimini, with the Fresno Stars of the Western Basketball Association, and in 1984 was a player-coach with the Wyoming Wildcatters of the CBA. In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The Billings Volcanos were an American basketball team based in Billings, Montana that was a member of the Continental Basketball Association. From 1979-80, they were called the Hawaii Volcanos. The team name is spelled "Volcanos," even though the proper plural spelling for volcano would be "volcano''e''s."
