The Gillette Mustangs (formerly Wyoming Mustangs) is a professional indoor football team based in Gillette, Wyoming. (CIF). The Mustangs play their home games at Wyoming Center at the CAM-PLEX. The team is owned by a local Gillette attorney, Steven Titus. The team had its first playoff birth in its second season eventually losing to the Billings Outlaws. In 2022, Gillette lawyer Steven Titus purchased the team from Russ. It was announced in late 2022, that Titus would rename the team to the Gillette Mustangs to shift the focus of the team's name from the state of Wyoming to the City of Gillette. Gillette is an American brand of safety razors and other personal care products including shaving supplies, owned by the multi-national corporation Procter & Gamble (P&G). Gillette (, '' jih-LET'') is a city in and the county seat of Campbell County, Wyoming, United States. The town was founded in 1891 as a major railway town on the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad. The population was estimated at 32,030 as of July 1, 2019. Gillette's population increased 48% in the ten years after the 2000 census, which counted 19,646 residents after a boom in its local fossil fuel industries. Gillette is centrally located in an area involved with the development of vast quantities of American coal, oil, and coalbed methane gas. The city calls itself the "Energy Capital of the Nation"; Wyoming provides nearly 35% of the nation's coal. Cedric Walker
Cedric Walker (born February 10, 1971) is a former American football defensive back and coach who is currently the head coach and defensive coordinator of the Wyoming Mustangs of the Champions Indoor Football (CIF). Walker played football at Stephen F. Austin University; once his stint there concluded, he signed with the AFL's Charlotte Rage. Walker played for a succession of AFL teams over his ten-season career; these included the Orlando Predators, Arizona Rattlers, Indiana Firebirds, Chicago Rush, Austin Wranglers, and Las Vegas Gladiators. At the end of his AFL Career, Walker had amassed some 522 solo tackles (614 total); this was (at the time) the league's seventh-highest total. An athletic conference is a collection of sports teams, playing competitively against each other in a sports league. In many cases conferences are subdivided into smaller divisions, with the best teams competing at successively higher levels. Conferences often, but not always, include teams from a common geographic region. Australian rules football The AFL Women's competition used a non-geographic conference system in 2019 and 2020. The league was divided into two conferences, based on ladder position in the previous season.
