The Wynyard Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in Wynyard, Tasmania. Club history The Wynyard Football Club was believed to be formed in 1885 as Table Cape and adopted the name of Wynyard in 1890. The Wynyard Cats entered the North West Football Union (NWFU) in 1925 after playing in a variety of competitions for the first four decades. Joe Littler
Harold Kennedy "Joe" Littler (17 July 1879 – 10 December 1956) was an Australian rules footballer who played for South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He also had a long career in Tasmania playing in the Northern Tasmanian Football Association, North West Football Union (NWFU), and the North West Football Association (NWFA). Littler was a premiership player in his debut season at Launceston, as an 18-year-old in 1897. He spent the following NTFA season at Launceston but then crossed to NWFA club Mersey and captained their 1899 premiership team and participated in two further premierships before attempting a VFL career. Signed up South Melbourne, Littler kicked a couple of goals on his debut, a win over Essendon, but didn't experience another victory in the rest of the nine matches that he played in the 1903 VFL season. Paul Atkins (Australian Footballer)
Paul Atkins (born 23 December 1968) is a former Australian rules footballer who played two games for the Sydney Swans in the 1992 AFL season. He had a similar build to his twin brother Simon Atkins who was a successful player at Footscray, the club with which Paul had originally tried out. He was recruited from Burnie Hawks in Tasmania. 1992 AFL season Atkins wore the number 32 jumper for the Sydney Swans in the 1992 AFL season and it took until Round 23 for Atkins to make his debut against the Brisbane Bears at Carrara. Simon Atkins (born 23 December 1968) is a former Australian rules football player who played with Footscray and Fitzroy Football Clubs in the Victorian (VFL) and Australian Football Leagues (AFL) from 1987 to 1996. Alastair Graeme Lynch (born 19 June 1968) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is best known as a three-time premiership full-forward for the Brisbane Lions. The Tasmanian began his career in defence, where he became a club champion and leading goal-kicker for Fitzroy. Chris Bond (born 26 January 1969) is a former Australian rules footballer who played as a rover for the , and Fremantle Football Clubs in the Australian Football League (AFL). Since retiring as a player he has coached Werribee in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and has also been an assistant coach for the Western Bulldogs. He is currently the football operations manager at Fremantle. Colin Robertson (Australian Rules Footballer)
Colin Robertson (born 19 June 1957) is a former Australian rules footballer who represented Hawthorn in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1980s. A hard running player, Robertson was a versatile footballer who could play across half back, on wing or on the ball. Robertson spent six seasons with Tasmanian club Wynyard, playing in premierships with the club in 1975 and 1979 before joining Hawthorn the following season. Robertson became a key part of the club's dominance during the early 1980s. In the 1983 VFL Grand Final he became the first Tasmanian to win the Norm Smith Medal after a superb tagging job on Essendon's dangerous rover Tim Watson. In 1987 Robertson returned to Tasmania to captain the Burnie Hawks in the Tasmanian State League for three seasons. In the last season he was Captain-Coach.
