Alister McDermott
Alister Craig McDermott (born 7 June 1991) is an Australian former cricketer who played for Queensland in Australian domestic cricket. He made his Queensland List A cricket debut on 11 October 2009 against Western Australia, and his First Class debut on 18 November 2009, in a match against the touring West Indians. Currently, he is an industrial executive at Colliers. He is the son of Australian Test cricketer Craig McDermott, elder brother of Ben McDermott, and has represented Australia in Youth Test and One Day Internationals at Under-19 level. He was a member of the Brisbane Heat Big Bash 02 winning team playing in the final and also the Sydney Thunder Big Bash 05 winning squad. Queensland Premier Cricket is the top cricket competition played in Queensland, Australia. The competition was founded under the name Brisbane Electoral Cricket in 1897 and eventually came to be known as Brisbane Grade Cricket, but has since expanded to take in teams from Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Ipswich. As of the 2019/20 season there were six grades in the Two-Day Bulls Masters competition. In addition to the two-day Grade competition there is also a One-Day competition for the John McKnoulty Cup and a T20 competition for the Tom Veivers Trophy. There is also a women's One-Day competition for the Katherine Raymont Shield contested by eight sides as of the 2020/21 season, and a women's T20 competition under Queensland Premier Cricket. Tingalpa is a suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Tingalpa had a population of 8,290 people. Geography The suburb has some older style homes built in the post war period – weatherboard and chamferboard post war cottages in particular. Most of the new estates are made up of typically low set and high set brick and tile homes. Bill Albury (cricketer)
William Douglas Albury (born 9 February 1947) is a former Australian first-class cricketer who played for Queensland in 28 first-class matches from 1970 to 1974. An accurate opening or first-change bowler, Bill Albury's best first-class figures were 5 for 90 (followed by 3 for 34 in the second innings) when Queensland beat Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield in 1972–73. Ryan Andrew Broad (born 9 March 1982 in Herston, Queensland) is an Australian professional cricketer who plays for the Queensland Bulls. He is a right-handed opening batsman. Broad was educated at the Anglican Church Grammar School. Broad is the son of Wayne Broad, who played for Queensland between 1977 and 1983. He was first selected to represent Queensland in November 2005 in a four-day match against Victoria (he scored 23 and 3 in each innings). He took the field for the Australian national team as a substitute fieldsman during the 2006–07 Ashes series, where he caught Andrew Strauss. Wayne Ronald Broad (born 20 June 1956) is a former first-class cricketer who played for Queensland from 1977 to 1987, mostly as a batsman and medium-paced bowler. Mark Gaskell (born 17 October 1956) is an Australian cricketer. He played in sixteen first-class matches and three List-A matches for Queensland between 1977/78 and 1982/83. His father, Brian, was a life member of Queensland Cricket who played for Eastern Suburbs in Brisbane Grade Cricket and served as State Director of Coaching. Early life Gaskell was born and raised in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. He attended Brisbane State High School. He commenced his cricket career at Wynnum Manly in Brisbane Grade Cricket and ultimately succeeded his brother-in-law Wayne Broad as captain of the club in 1988. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out").
