Wyatt Mathisen
Wyatt Lane Mathisen (born December 30, 1993) is an American former professional baseball infielder. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2nd round of the 2012 MLB draft. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Career Mathisen attended Calallen High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. He committed to play college baseball for the Texas Longhorns. Pittsburgh Pirates He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2nd round, with the 69th overall selection, of the 2012 MLB draft. He signed with the Pirates for a $746,300 signing bonus. Mathisen spent the 2012 season with the GCL Pirates, hitting .295/.388/.374 with 1 home run and 15 RBI. Altoona Curve
The Altoona Curve are a Minor League Baseball team based in Altoona, Pennsylvania, named after nearby Horseshoe Curve (but also alluding to the curveball, a type of pitch). The team plays in the Eastern League and is the Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Designated for assignment (DFA) is a contractual term used in Major League Baseball (MLB). A player who is designated for assignment is immediately removed from the team's 40-man roster, after which the team must within seven days, return the player to the 40-man roster, place the player on waivers, trade the player, release the player, or outright the player from the 40-man roster into Minor League Baseball. Reno Aces
The Reno Aces are a Minor League Baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL) and the Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Bradenton Marauders are a Minor League Baseball team of the Florida State League and the Single-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Jamestown Jammers
The Jamestown Jammers were a minor league baseball team based in Jamestown, New York from 1994 until 2014. The team was the Short-Season A classification affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates and played in the New York–Penn League. The team played all of their home games at Russell Diethrick Park. On August 25, 2014, a week before the end of the 2014 season, it was announced that the team would cease operations in Jamestown and be relocated to Morgantown, West Virginia, beginning in 2015.
