Wyaldra Creek
Wyaldra Creek is a creek in the Gulgong district of New South Wales, Australia. Wyaldra Creek is about 20 km long. It rises in the hills near Tallawang, about 15 kilometres north of Gulgong. It flows south and then west and joins the Cudgegong River, about 8 kilometres west of Gulgong. The Wyaldra creek drainage basin is generally the most north-easterly component of the Cudgegong river watershed. Tributaries of the creek extend from the Great Dividing Range drainage basin divide around Ulan, although the drainage divide is topographically almost insignificant in this area. The Castlereagh Highway crosses Wyaldra Creek about 5 kilometres north-west of Gulgong. There is also a historic timber bridge at the hamlet of Beryl another 4 kilometres further west. Gulgong
Gulgong is a 19th-century gold rush town in the Central Tablelands and the wider Central West regions of the Australian state of New South Wales. The town is situated within the Mid-Western Regional Council local government area. It is located about north west of Sydney, and about 30 km north of Mudgee along the Castlereagh Highway. At the 2016 Census, Gulgong had a population of 2,521. Today, much of the 19th-century character of the town remains, contributing to its appeal as a tourist destination. Of special interest is the Prince of Wales Opera House, a survivor with a rich history. An attraction of note is the ''Gulgong Pioneer Museum'', which has a huge collection of thematically-displayed exhibits, ranging from kitchen utensils to complete buildings that have been relocated to a "street" on the site. Cudgegong River
Cudgegong River, a perennial stream that is part of the Macquarie catchment within the Murray–Darling basin, is located in the central western and Orana districts of New South Wales, Australia. The river rises of the western slopes of the Great Dividing Range within Wollemi National Park, east of Rylstone, and flows generally west, north-west, and south-west, joined by fourteen tributaries, including Wyaldra Creek and Lawsons Creek, before reaching its confluence with the Macquarie River at Lake Burrendong; descending over its course. Castlereagh Highway
Castlereagh Highway is a state highway located in New South Wales and Queensland, Australia. The highway's northern terminus is at a junction with Carnarvon Highway, south of , Queensland. Its southern terminus is at a junction with Great Western Highway at Marrangaroo, north-west of Lithgow. Mid-Western Regional Council
The Mid-Western Regional Council is a local government area in the Central West region of New South Wales, Australia. The area is located adjacent to the Castlereagh Highway that passes through the middle of the area in an approximate southeast–northwest direction. Mid-Western Regional Council was proclaimed on 26 May 2004 and incorporates the whole of the former Mudgee Shire Council and parts of the former Merriwa and Rylstone Shires. The Mid-Western Regional Council also incorporated the area of the historic Wyaldra Shire, which was abolished in an earlier round of local government amalgamations.
