Wunder Gescheh'n
''Wunder gescheh'n'' (German for "Miracles Happen") is the first solo album by German pop singer Nena. It was released in November 1989, two years after the demise of her band in fall 1987. The title track, "Du bist überall" and "Im Rausch der Liebe" were released as singles and had moderate success. Theme The album was written (several tracks by Nena herself) and recorded at a time when she was pregnant with twins and shortly after the death of her first child at the age of 11 months. Many of the songs focus on Nena's feelings towards her lost son and her hopes and fears concerning her unborn children. One of them, "Weisses Schiff", is often introduced by Nena at her live concerts as one of her favourite songs. The song describes the thoughts of a person watching a ship of young and old souls sailing into the distance, expressing the hope that when her time comes, she'll be welcomed aboard. The Berlin Wall (german: Berliner Mauer, ) was a guarded concrete barrier that encircled West Berlin from 1961 to 1989, separating it from East Berlin and East Germany (GDR). Construction of the Berlin Wall was commenced by the government of the GDR on 13 August 1961. It included guard towers placed along large concrete walls, accompanied by a wide area (later known as the "death strip") that contained anti-vehicle trenches, beds of nails and other defenses. The Eastern Bloc portrayed the Wall as protecting its population from fascist elements conspiring to prevent the "will of the people" from building a socialist state in the GDR. The authorities officially referred to the Berlin Wall as the ''Anti-Fascist Protection Rampart'' (german: Antifaschistischer Schutzwall, ). Sankt Augustin ( Ripuarian: ''Sank Aujustin'') is a town in the Rhein-Sieg district, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is named after the patron saint of the Divine Word Missionaries, Saint Augustine of Hippo (354-430). The Missionaries established a monastery near the current town centre in 1913. Live At SO36
''Live at SO36'' is the 6th live album of the German pop singer Nena. It comprises the recording of most of her concert performed at the SO36 club in Berlin on 4 March 2015 and was released exactly one year later on 4 March 2016. Background Nena's association with the SO36 club goes back to the early 1980s when she lived in Berlin prior to becoming famous. In her 2005 memoirs "Willst du mit mir gehn", she describes it as being one of the three main places where she spent her weekends. The sold-out concert on 4 March 2015 was part of a "clubtour" of smaller venues for audiences of 500 to 700 people aimed at promoting Nena's album '' Oldschool'' which had been released the previous month. Extracts of the video from the second single released from ''Oldschool'', "Berufsjugendlich", had also been filmed at SO36. ''Du bist gut'' ("You're Good") is a studio album by German pop singer Nena.''Du bist gut'' at the official Nena website, with credits, complete lyrics and samples for music. Retrieved 14 October 2016. The album was recorded in Iceland and released on 2 November 2012 by The Laugh and Peas Company, the record label run by Nena and her partner Philipp Palm. The cover artwork is designed by Nena's daughter Larissa, and her son Sakias duets with her on a couple of tracks. The album peaked at No. 2 in the German album charts. ''Made In Germany Live'' is a two-CD live album by German pop singer Nena, released on 17 September 2010. It contains her live performance at Berlin on 24 April 2010, with bonus tracks from concert dates in 2009 and 2010 on the special edition of the album. The bonus tracks include two songs by Nena’s first band, The Stripes. Of the 27 tracks featured in the album, 11 were from the “Made in Germany” album which the concert tour was promoting. Of the remaining 16, ten are songs from the 1980s and six from the 2000s, leaving Nena’s work from the 1990s (the most productive decade of her solo career in terms of new material) completely unrepresented.
