Wright State Raiders Men's Soccer
The Wright State Raiders men's soccer program represents Wright State University in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. Founded in 1968, the Raiders compete in the Horizon League. The Raiders are coached by Jake Slemker, who has coached the program for two years. Wright State play their home matches at WSU Alumni Field. In 2019, for the first time in program history, the Raiders earned a berth into the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament. Horizon League
The Horizon League is an 11-school collegiate athletic conference in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I, whose members are located in and near the Great Lakes region. The Horizon League founded in 1979 as the Midwestern City Conference. The conference changed its name to Midwestern Collegiate Conference in 1985 and then the Horizon League in 2001. The conference started with a membership of six teams and has fluctuated in size with 24 different schools as members at different times. The League currently has 11 members. The NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament, sometimes known as the College Cup, is an American intercollegiate soccer tournament conducted by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and determines the Division I men's national champion. The tournament has been formally held since 1959, when it was an eight-team tournament. Since then, the tournament has expanded to 48 teams, in which every Division I conference tournament champion is allocated a berth.
