Edvin Vesterby (born 23 October 1927) is a retired Swedish bantamweight wrestler. He competed at the 1952, 1956 and 1960 in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling and won a Greco-Roman silver medal in 1956. He finished fourth in the freestyle in 1952 and in the Greco-Roman wrestling in 1960. He was born in Riguldi Parish (now Noarootsi Parish), Lääne County, Estonia into a Swedish-speaking family. Mykhailo Shakhov
Mikhail Afanasyevich Shakhov (russian: Михаил Афанасьевич Шахов; 20 November 1931 – 8 August 2018) was a Soviet bantamweight freestyle wrestler. Biography He was born in Saratov in 1931. Shakhov lost his father during World War II in 1942. He was raised in Saratov Oblast, Russian SFSR, and took up wrestling in Kiev, Ukrainian SSR, while serving with the Soviet Army there. He started serving in Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR in Kiev in 1951. Then he started training in Sambo and in 1954 became the champion of the USSR. He competed at the 1956 and 1960 Olympics and won a bronze medal in 1956. He stayed in Kiev for most of his life. Shakhov won the Soviet bantamweight title in 1956, 1960 and 1961, placing third in 1957. His favorite technique was kata guruma. Hüseyin Akbaş
Hüseyin Akbaş (1933–1989) was a Turkish wrestler. He competed in freestyle wrestling at the 1956, 1960 and 1964 Olympics and won a bronze medal in 1956 and a silver in 1964. Akbaş won the world freestyle title in 1954, 1957, 1959 and 1962, placing third in 1955 and 1961 and fourth in 1965. In 2011 he was inducted into the United World Wrestling Hall of Fame. Wrestling career Hüseyin Akbaş grew up in the small town of Tokat in Asia Minor and took up the Turkish national sport of oil wrestling at an early age. Later he also took up Olympic wrestling, developing into an excellent wrestler in both styles, but preferring the free style.
