Bob Ryder
Bob Ryder (October 22, 1956 – November 24, 2020) was an American professional wrestling journalist and one of the founders of Impact Wrestling (then Total Nonstop Action). Ryder had been an innovator in the online wrestling community as he was the head of Prodigy's professional wrestling area. During this time, he became the first person to conduct an online interview for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE), when he interviewed Kevin Nash and Shawn Michaels during WrestleMania XI in 1995. He was also the founder of '' 1Wrestling.com'' and the webmaster for Extreme Championship Wrestling's (ECW) website. During the Monday Night Wars, Ryder worked for World Championship Wrestling (WCW), where he co-hosted ''WCW Live'' with Jeremy Borash. He was close friends with WCW President Eric Bischoff. Bill Apter
William Stanley Apter (born October 22, 1945) is an American journalist and photographer specializing in professional wrestling. He was an editorial staff member and photographer for several magazines during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, notably ''Pro Wrestling Illustrated''. These magazines often reported wrestling in kayfabe, focusing on the storylines and angles rather than reporting "backstage" goings on. Apter was so closely associated with these magazines that they were often known as "Apter Mags." John Pollock is a Canadian sports reporter best known for his work on Fight Network Radio, '' Live Audio Wrestling'' and founding the website ''POST Wrestling''. He has also produced the acclaimed documentary '' Survival of the Hitman'' about professional wrestler Bret Hart. Early life Pollock was born in Toronto. Dave Scherer is an American sports writer and journalist, best known for writing about professional wrestling for the ''ECW Magazine'', ''New York Daily News'', '' World of Wrestling Magazine'', 1Wrestling.com and founding the newsletter ''The Wrestling Lariat'' in 1995 and the website PWInsider.com, which he created in 2004 when he left 1Wrestling together with several other reporters. Scherer played an important part in making Extreme Championship Wrestling noticed in the early 1990s through tape trading and gained a cult following among the hardcore ECW fans at the time when he appeared at the promotions shows. The mock combat is performed in a ring similar to the kind used in boxing, and the dramatic aspects of pro wrestling may be performed both in the ring or—as in televised wrestling shows—in backstage areas of the venue, in similar form to reality television. Professional wrestling as a form of theater evolved out of the widespread practice of match fixing among wrestlers in the early 20th century. Rather than sanction the wrestlers for their deceit as was done with boxers, the public instead came to see professional wrestling as a performance art rather than a sport. Keller has hosted ''The Wade Keller Pro Wrestling Podcast'' on PodcastOne since 2017. ''Pro Wrestling Torch'' Keller founded ''Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter'' (aka ''PWTorch'', or simply ''The Torch'') in October 1987, when he was a junior in high school.
