Wrentham () is a Hamlet (place), hamlet in southern Alberta, Canada within the County of Warner No. 5. It is located southeast of the intersection of the Alberta Highway 36, Veteran Memorial Highway (Highway 36) and the historic Alberta Highway 61, Red Coat Trail (Highway 61), approximately east of the Village of Stirling, Alberta, Stirling, south of the Town of Taber, Alberta, Taber and west of the Village of Foremost, Alberta, Foremost. The hamlet was named by the Canadian Pacific Railway after Wrentham, Suffolk, Wrentham, a village in Suffolk, England. The hamlet is located in Division No. 2, Alberta, Census Division No. 2 and in the federal riding of Lethbridge (electoral district), Lethbridge. Wrentham, Suffolk
Wrentham is a village and civil parish in the East Suffolk district, in the north-east of the English county of Suffolk. It is located about from the North Sea coast on the A12 trunk road, about south-west of Lowestoft, north of Southwold and south-east of Beccles. The village has several shops, two pubs and a village hall. The parish church is located to the west of the village, and near to it is the old circular brick animal pound, used in the 18th and 19th centuries to contain stray animals rounded up in the parish. History The Old Town Hall, which was designed in the Gothic Revival style, was completed in 1862. During the winter of 1916–17 the 2/7th (Merionethshire & Montgomeryshire) Battalion of the Royal Welch Fusiliers was based at Wrentham. The 2012 Summer Olympics torch relay passed through the village on 5 July. The village gave its name to a Ham-class inshore minesweepers called HMS Wrentham (M2779) which was launched on 8 February 1955. A hamlet in A ... Wrentham, Massachusetts
Wrentham ( ) is a town in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 12,178 at the 2020 census. History In 1660, five men from Dedham were sent to explore the lakes near George Indian's wigwam and to report back to the selectmen what they found. The report of those men, Daniel Fisher, Anthony Fisher, Sgt. Fuller, Richard Ellis, and Richard Wheeler, was received with such enthusiasm that in March 1661 it was voted to start a new settlement there. The Town then voted to send Ellis and Timothy Dwight to go negotiate with King Phillip to purchase the title to the area known as Wollomonopoag. They purchased 600 acres of land for £24, 6s. The money was paid out of pocket by Captain Willett, who accompanied Ellis and Dwight. The Town voted to assess a tax upon the cow commons to repay him, but some thought the money should be paid by those who would be moving to the new village.
