World University Cycling Championship – Road Cycling
World University Cycling Championship – Road Cycling are the world university championship races for road bicycle racing. Since 1978 the championship is sponsored by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). There competitions are sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). There are three road racing disciplines, a road race, time trial, and criterium for both men and women. The criterium discipline was first introduced in the 2016 edition. World University Cycling Championship
The World University Cycling Championship is a competition sponsored by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), which was first held in 1978 in Antwerp, Belgium. Before 1978 there were also World University Championships, but these were not sponsored by the International University Sports Federation. The next edition will be held in Jelenia Gora, Poland in 2014. The championship last five days and could contain events in five cycling sports: road cycling (road race and time trial), track cycling, mountainbike (cross-country and marathon), BMX and Cyclo-Cross. 2016 World University Cycling Championship
The 2016 World University Cycling Championship was the 7th edition of the World University Cycling Championship. The tournament was hosted by the Federation of School Sports Association of the Philippines (FESSAP), sponsored by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The championship proper took place in Tagaytay, Philippines from March 17–20, 2016 with the opening ceremonies held on March 16. It is the first FISU World University Cycling Championship to be held outside of Europe and the first in Asia. The 2014 World University Cycling Championship is the 6th World University Cycling Championship (5th according to the organisation) sponsored by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).
