World Croquet Federation
The World Croquet Federation (WCF) encourages, promotes and develops the recognised versions of the game of croquet internationally at all levels. National croquet associations around the world are members of the WCF, and the WCF sanctions championship croquet tournaments worldwide. The official rules of Croquet#Golf, Golf Croquet are maintained by the WCF. Member Countries Croquet playing Nations must satisfy strict criteria prior to membership being accepted by the WCF. Its international governing body is the World Croquet Federation. Variations There are several variations of croquet currently played, differing in the scoring systems, order of shots, and layout (particularly in social games where play must be adapted to smaller-than-standard playing courts). Croquet Association
The Croquet Association, which was formed as the United All England Croquet Association in 1897, is the national governing body for the sport of croquet in England. Until 1974 the association was responsible for croquet in the whole of the United Kingdom. The Scottish Croquet Association, formed in 1974, now has responsibility for croquet in Scotland. At the 2013 AGM the association formally relinquished control of the game in the other parts of the United Kingdom. Presidents of the association have included Sir Compton Mackenzie, who was President from 1953 to 1966. United States Croquet Association
The United States Croquet Association (USCA) fosters croquet in all its forms, from the familiar nine-wicket croquet game to the modern sport of six-wicket croquet. There are USCA-affiliated clubs and tournaments across the United States and Canada. The official rules of American Croquet are maintained by the USCA. The USCA is a member of the World Croquet Federation. The USCA is headquartered at the National Croquet Center, 700 Florida Mango Road, West Palm Beach, Florida. It has a full-time office staff which keeps regular weekday hours. The USCA provides information on starting a club and print resources, consultation on lawn construction, and maintenance. Robert Fulford (croquet Player)
Robert Ian Fulford (born 1969) is a leading English croquet player who has dominated the sport since the turn of the 1990s. Life and career Born in Colchester, England, he was educated at Colchester Royal Grammar School and Durham University followed by the University of Essex. Fulford also coaches croquet, particularly in Australia and the Chattooga Club in North Carolina. Robert has made croquet videos with Australian croquet expert Kevin Brereton in which Robert teaches both basic and advanced break tactics. Chris Clarke (croquet Player)
Chris Clarke (born 1971 in Lancashire) is an English croquet player who has been ranked among the world's top players since the late 1980s. He now represents New Zealand. Chris has won two World Championships in Association Croquet, in 1995 and again in 2008, six AC World Team Champs and one GC World Team Champs. 2008 was perhaps Chris's finest year, overtaking previous world champions Robert Fulford and Reg Bamford to regain the position of world number one player, which he held for in excess of 16 months. Stephen Mulliner
Stephen Mulliner (born 4 September 1953) is an English international croquet player, who has won championships in both major disciplines, Association Croquet (AC) and Golf Croquet (GC). He won the British AC Open Championship in 1988, 1990, and 2000; the British GC Open Championship in 2000, 2001, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2020; the European GC Championship in 2007, 2009, 2013, 2015 and 2019; and the World AC Championship in 2016. In the 2016 World AC Championships held at the National Croquet Center, West Palm Beach in Florida, he defeated Christian Carter, Stephen Forster, Danny Huneycutt, and Reg Bamford before reaching the final. Reginald Bamford
Reg Bamford (born 11 October 1967 in Cape Town, South Africa) is a croquet world champion from London, England. Although resident in England, he plays croquet for his native South Africa. Since 2001, he has dominated world croquet. He is the only player to have won both versions of the World Championships (Golf Croquet and Association Croquet) and held both titles simultaneously in 2013. He has won the Association Croquet World Croquet Championship five times (2001, 2005, 2009, 2012 and 2020), and the WCF World Golf Croquet Championship twice (2013 and 2017). He was runner-up on two occasions (2018 in AC and 2012 in GC) and semi-finalist on two occasions (2014 and 2016 in AC). Ben Rothman is, as of May 2012, the number one ranked Association croquet player in North America. After focusing his life towards the game in 2007, he has become a formidable force and a player to beat in serious competition around the world. Rothman has won many high-profile croquet tournaments and competed in such major competitions as many USCA National Championships, the WCF World Championships, the MacRobertson Shield, and the Solomon Trophy. Early life Benjamin Hunter Rothman (aka Brothman) was born on November 9, 1983, in Berkeley, California.
