Works Of El Greco
El Greco was a Cretan-born painter, sculptor and architect of the Spanish Renaissance. El Greco left his birthplace for Venice in 1567, never to return. El Greco's three years in Venice profoundly influenced his style. In 1577, he emigrated to Toledo, Spain, where he lived and worked until the end of his life. El Greco's oeuvre is thus divided in three main periods: * Works he painted while he was still in Crete * Works he painted while he was still in Venice and Rome * Works he painted while he was still in Toledo El Greco was mainly a painter but a few sculptures, including ''Epimetheus and Pandora'', have also been attributed to El Greco.X. de Salas, ''The Velazquez Exhibition in Madrid'', 54–57 This doubtful attribution is based on the testimony of Pacheco. El Greco
Domḗnikos Theotokópoulos ( el, Δομήνικος Θεοτοκόπουλος ; 1 October 1541 7 April 1614), most widely known as El Greco ("The Greek"), was a Greek painter, sculptor and architect of the Spanish Renaissance. "El Greco" was a nickname, and the artist normally signed his paintings with his full birth name in Greek letters, (), often adding the word (), which means Cretan. El Greco was born in the Kingdom of Candia (modern Crete), which was at that time part of the Republic of Venice, Italy, and the center of Post-Byzantine art. He trained and became a master within that tradition before traveling at age 26 to Venice, as other Greek artists had done.J. Brown, ''El Greco of Toledo'', 75–77 In 1570, he moved to Rome, where he opened a workshop and executed a series of works. During his stay in Italy, El Greco enriched his style with elements of Mannerism and of the Venetian Renaissance taken from a number of great artists of the time, notably Tinto ...

Benaki Museum
The Benaki Museum, established and endowed in 1930 by Antonis Benakis in memory of his father Emmanuel Benakis, is housed in the Benakis family mansion in downtown Athens, Greece. The museum houses Greek works of art from the prehistorical to the modern times, an extensive collection of Asian art, hosts periodic exhibitions and maintains a state-of-the-art restoration and conservation workshop. Although the museum initially housed a collection that included Islamic art, Chinese porcelain and exhibits on toys, its 2000 re-opening led to the creation of satellite museums that focused on specific collections, allowing the main museum to focus on Greek culture over the span of the country's history. This Museum in Athens houses over 100,000 artifacts from Greek history and showcases the many eras, civilizations and cultures which have influenced the development of Greece. Spread over a number of locations, the museum ranks among Greece’s foremost cultural institutions. Athens campus ...

Healing Of The Man Born Blind (El Greco, Dresden)
''Healing of the Man Born Blind'' is a painting of the healing of the man born blind by El Greco, produced in 1567 during his time in Venice. It is now in the Palazzo della Pilotta in Parma, Italy. It marks his first use of a space marked by perspective, abandoning the perspective-less Byzantine style in which he had been trained. It shows the heavy influence of Tintoretto, Titian and Veronese. He returned to the subject five years later, in a work now in Parma.
