Samuel Works (c. 1781 – January 2, 1868) was an American politician from New York. Life He was born December 4, 1781, at Westmoreland, New Hampshire, the son of Samuel Works and Susanna (Chandler) Works. In 1816, he removed to Rochester, New York and was co-owner of a tannery there. In 1826, he was elected Chief Engineer of the Fire Department, and later became Fire Chief and City Superintendent. In February 1831, he was the Anti-Masonic candidate for U.S. Senator from New York, but was defeated by Jacksonian William L. Marcy. The same year, Works removed to Lockport. The Alan Parsons Project was a British rock band active between 1975 and 1990, whose core membership consisted of producer, audio engineer, musician and composer Alan Parsons and singer, songwriter and pianist Eric Woolfson.
