Woollaston
Woollaston is a small hamlet near Bradley, Staffordshire, England, four miles northwest of Penkridge and two miles southeast of Church Eaton. It lies in quite flat dairy farming countryside a mile south of Shredicote and a mile west of Mitton. Ben Woollaston
Ben Woollaston (born 14 May 1987) is an English professional snooker player from Leicester. His sole professional title came at the minor-ranking third Players Tour Championship event in 2011. Woollaston's only ranking event final came at the 2015 Welsh Open, in which he lost to John Higgins. Career Born in Leicester, England, Woollaston began his professional career by playing the Challenge Tour in 2003, at the time the second-level professional tour. He first entered the Main Tour for the 2004–05 season, but was unable to retain his place for the following season. He regained his place for 2006–07 by winning the European Under-19 Championship. He was awarded a concessionary place for the 2007–08 tour. Philip Woollaston
Philip Tosswill Edmond Woollaston (born 17 August 1944) is a former New Zealand Labour Party politician. He was Member of Parliament for Nelson from 1981 to 1990 and Mayor of Nelson from 1992 to 1998. Early life and family Woollaston was born in Motueka to New Zealand artist Sir Mountford Tosswill Woollaston and Edith Winifred Alexander. He is married with two children. Woollaston attended Greymouth Main Primary School and Cobden Primary School. While his parents were overseas he attended St Andrew's College in Christchurch (1958–62) as a boarder. He graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Science in physics (1971) and Christchurch Teachers' College with a Diploma in Teaching (1971). Toss Woollaston
Sir Mountford Tosswill "Toss" Woollaston (11 April 1910 – 30 August 1998) was a New Zealand artist. He is regarded as one of the most important New Zealand painters of the 20th century. Life Born in Toko, Taranaki in 1910, Woollaston attended primary school at Stratford, and Stratford Technical High School. He studied art at the Canterbury School of Art in Christchurch. One of his teachers at the Canterbury School of Art was Margaret Stoddart. He became interested in modernism after moving to Dunedin to study with R N Field. In 1934 he settled at Mapua, near Nelson, and married Edith Alexander two years later. They became part of a circle of local artists and writers which included Colin McCahon. After World War II the Woollastons moved to Greymouth, and the landscape of the West Coast became a major feature in his art. Woollaston Baronets
The Lawrence, later Woollaston (or Wollaston) Baronetcy, of Loseby (i.e. Lowesby Hall) in the County of Leicester, was a title in the baronetage of Great Britain. It was created on 17 January 1748 for Edward Lawrence Esq., (died 1749), with remainder to his great-nephew, Isaac Woollaston (d.1750) of Lowesby Hall, Leicestershire. Lawrence was MP for Stockbridge. He died in 1749 and was succeeded according to the special remainder by his great-nephew, Isaac Woollaston (died 1750), the second baronet. He was the grandson of Josiah Woollaston (1652–1689) by his wife Elizabeth Lawrence, sister of the first baronet. The title became extinct on the death of the second baronet's son, the third baronet, who died as a child in 1756. Woolaston is a village and civil parish in the Forest of Dean district of Gloucestershire in South West England. It lies on the north side of the Severn Estuary approximately 5 miles (8 kilometres) from the Welsh border at Chepstow and is surrounded by woodland and agricultural land. Development of the village There are plans to develop the dairy into a small housing development. Recent developments have consolidated rather than expanded the village footprint. Traveling north west from Netherend with its primary school, village shop and 'The Netherend' pub, you pass a Methodist church, then 'Birchwood Road', leading to a housing estate, the 'Ring Fence' a small lane with a number of cottages along it, the 'Rising Sun' one of the village's two public houses and the village allotments.
