Woodston, Cambridgeshire
Woodston is a largely residential and industrial area of the city of Peterborough, in the unparished area of Old Fletton, in the Peterborough district, in the ceremonial county of Cambridgeshire, England. For electoral purposes, it forms part of Fletton ward in North West Cambridgeshire constituency. Oundle Road runs through most of Woodston into the Ortons. Administration Situated south of the River Nene, the area was historically part of Huntingdonshire, rather than the Soke of Peterborough in Northamptonshire. The civil parish of Woodston was divided under the provisions of the Local Government Act 1894 into Woodston Rural parish (of 984 acres) and Woodston Urban parish (70 acres). In 1905, Woodston Rural became part of Old Fletton Urban District and Woodston Urban became part of Peterborough Municipal Borough. Woodston is a city in Rooks County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 94. History Woodston was established along the Missouri Pacific Railroad in 1885 as a railroad town between Bull City (Alton) and Stockton. Woodston was named for Stockton businessman Charles C. Woods who was instrumental in getting railroad service to Stockton. The Rooks Centre Post Office, established in 1872, was moved to Woodston in 1886. Woodston filed for incorporation in 1905.
