Woodside is a small housing area in the north of Dundee, Scotland. The area runs between Graham Street, Mains Loan and lengthwise to the Kingsway. The residential housing is mainly 1920s constructions with four homes to a block. The area is within a walkable distance of the amenities of Clepington Road, however it is home to one corner shop, Graham St. News. Dundee City Council is the local government authority for the City of Dundee. It was created in 1996 under the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994. Dundee East is a constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (at Westminster). Created for the 1950 general election, it elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first-past-the-post voting system. Dundee City East (Gaelic: ''Baile Dhùn Dè an Ear'') is a constituency of the Scottish Parliament ( Holyrood) covering part of the council area of Dundee City. It elects one Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) by the first past the post method of election. It is one of ten constituencies in the North East Scotland electoral region, which elects seven additional members, in addition to the ten constituency MSPs, to produce a form of proportional representation for the region as a whole. The constituency was created for the 2011 Scottish Parliament election, and largely replaced the previous seat of Dundee East. Xplore Dundee is a bus operator based in Dundee, Scotland, operating services mainly within Dundee City. The operator also runs a service to Edinburgh Airport. It is a subsidiary of McGill’s Buses, which is based in Greenock, Scotland. History The company has its origins in the Dundee and District Tramways Company, which commenced horse tram operations on 30 August 1877. Steam traction was adopted in 1885. On 1 June 1899, the company was compulsorily acquired by the local municipality to become Dundee City Tramways, which was electrified between 1900 and 1902. From 1922, motor buses began to be operated in addition to the trams. The tram system continued to be extended until 1933. But by 1956, the trams had been fully replaced by buses and the company renamed Dundee Corporation Transport. Kirkton is a residential housing scheme located in the north of Dundee. The area is bordered by Downfield, Dundee, Downfield to the west, Trottick to the east and Fairmuir to the south.
