Pilot Speed (formerly known as Pilate) was a Canadian rock band, who were active in the early 2000s.Gerry Krochak, "Pilate strives for sincerity". ''Regina Leader-Post'', October 23, 2003. Based in Toronto, Ontario, the band consisted of vocalist and pianist Todd Clark, guitarist Chris Greenough, bassist Ruby Bumrah and drummer Bill Keeley. Clark was a graduate of the music program at the University of Western Ontario, while all of the other three members were alumni of OCAD University. They released their debut EP, '' For All That's Given, Wasted'', independently in 2001 before signing to MapleMusic Recordings, which released their full-length debut album '' Caught by the Window'' in 2003. Wind-up Entertainment was an American independent record label founded by Alan and Diana Meltzer in 1997. It was based in New York City and was distributed by BMG Distribution. Wind-up's best-selling artists worldwide were Creed and Evanescence. ''Sell Control for Life's Speed'' is the second album by Canadian rock band Pilot Speed (at the time known as Pilate). It was recorded at The Armoury, Vancouver BC (tracks 1, 2, 5-11) and at Phase One Studios, Toronto ON (tracks 3, 4). In the United States, the album was released on September 19, 2006, with the album title changed from ''Sell Control for Life's Speed'' to ''Into the West''. The albums also feature slightly different track listings. "Lover Come In", which was track 8 on the original album, is replaced by two tracks, "Into Your Hideout" and "Alright", which are tracks 8 and 9 on the U.S. version although those songs were on their debut album ''Caught by the Window''. Both tracks are presented on alternate mixes. "Barely Listening" was featured in the videogame NHL 07. The 34th annual Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) was held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada between September 10 and September 19, 2009. The opening night gala presented the Charles Darwin biography ''Creation''. '' The Young Victoria'', based on the early years of Queen Victoria, closed the festival on September 19. About the 2009 Festival TIFF is a non-profit organization whose goal is to change the way people look at the world through film. The festival is Canada's largest film festival, receiving 4,209 submissions in 2008. Of this total, 312 films were screened coming from 64 different countries.
