Woodcrest is a census-designated place (CDP) in Riverside County, California, United States. The population was 14,347 at the 2010 census, up from 8,342 at the 2000 United States Census. The adjacent city of Riverside lists Woodcrest as an area for potential annexation. History The Woodcrest area was initially populated by dry land grain farmers in the late 19th century.Gunther, pages 580-582. In 1894, the population had grown enough for the Riverside County Board of Supervisors to establish a school in the area, and on February 6 of that year they authorized the ''Oak Glen School District''. In 1905 the first subdivision, the Oak Glen Tract, was created. The House Heights tract was formed in April 1924, and in May the Fertile Acres tract was created near the current Washington Street and Van Buren intersection. Woodcrest, also known as the Homer Reboul Estate, is a national historic district located at Nissequogue in Suffolk County, New York. The district encompasses an estate with two contributing buildings and two contributing structure. The estate house is a large two story Shingle Style structure, with a gambrel roof and an attached service wing, built in 1895. It is surrounded by formal gardens. Woodcrest is a neighborhood located within Cherry Hill in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. The area dates back to the 1950s and is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Cherry Hill. It was developed by Morris and Harold Sarshik. Development Originally a farming community, Woodcrest has a large amount of residential and commercial areas. Residential development began in 1955. Transportation includes several major roads in the area, including County Route 561 (Haddonfield-Berlin Road). Interstate 295 briefly runs through Woodcrest, having an interchange with County Route 561 and another at the Woodcrest Station on the PATCO Speedline. Woodcrest Country Club is a private golf course located on County Route 544 (Evesham Road). Woodcrest Swim Club is a private swim club that opened in 1957. Woodcrest (PATCO Station)
Woodcrest station is an at-grade rapid transit station on the PATCO Speedline, operated by the Delaware River Port Authority. It is located in Woodcrest section of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, after which the station is named, near the intersection of Woodcrest Road and Melrose Avenue. History The PATCO line opened on January 4, 1969. Woodcrest was a later infill station, was designed as a park and ride facility with a direct connection to the adjacent Interstate 295 via exit 31. The station opened on February 1, 1980, coinciding with the first use of the PATCO II transit cars. Ferry Avenue Local trains were replaced with Woodcrest Local trains on September 20, 1980. As part of PATCO's 2020 "Station Enhancements Project", Woodcrest station was remodeled. Woodcrest Mansion is a historic mansion in Radnor Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania, designed by renowned architect Horace Trumbauer, for James W. Paul, managing partner in Drexel and Company Banking (now JPMorgan Chase). Today, it is one of the oldest buildings on the campus of Cabrini University, where it serves as the main administration building. It was originally built in 1901, but major renovations and additions began almost immediately and continued through 1907, with additional modifications executed in 1914. It is a three-story, 51 room, 47,000 square feet mansion in the Elizabethan Tudor Revival style. It was once part of a 238-acre estate, 112 acres of which is Cabrini University.
