The Women's Rugby League Conference was a rugby league for female teams in Britain that ran from 2008 to 2013. The men's equivalent is the Rugby League Conference. History : The ''Southern Conference League'' began as a 10-team pilot league for male rugby league teams in the Midlands and South of England in 1997. It changed its name to the Rugby League Conference in 1998 and expanded to cover the whole of Great Britain. The first Women's Rugby League Conference began in 2008. The Rugby Football League Women's Super League (known as the Betfred Women's Super League due to sponsorship) is the elite women's rugby league club competition in England. Originally competed between four teams in the 2017 season, the league has developed with the 2021 season being contested by 10 teams playing home and away against each other with subsequent play-offs and Grand Final. The Women's Challenge Cup is a rugby league knockout competition organised by the Rugby Football League. The competition started in 2012. History 2012–2016: Foundations The Women's Challenge Cup was set up in 2012 to run alongside the men's competition to give women's rugby teams more competitive games and to give the sport a bigger profile by attaching it to the Challenge Cup. Most teams in the first few years were community clubs and had no links to professional men's clubs. The Women's Rugby League World Cup is an international rugby league tournament, contested by the women's national team of the International Rugby League (IRL). The competition has been held since 2000 in Great Britain and since 2008 has been part of the Festival of World Cups. Thatto Heath Crusaders is an amateur rugby league club situated in Thatto Heath, St Helens, Merseyside. The club currently competes in the National Conference League Premier Division History ''Thatto Heath'' RLFC began life in 1981, originally formed by ex-St Helens R.F.C. player Frankie Barrow. Mancunians is Manchester's rugby league and sports club fielding several rugby and handball teams across the city at various age groups. The club is a Sports Club Community Mutual (Co-operative) and carries out development work across the city of Manchester. The club submitted an expression of interest to the Rugby Football League to join Championship 1 in 2009 and are working with the Rugby Football League to develop their application further. Leigh Miners Rangers are a community amateur rugby league football club from Leigh in the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan, Greater Manchester. The club currently competes in the National Conference League, the National Conference Premier Division. The club also operates an A team, Masters, an Under 18's team, and numerous junior teams.
