Mercedes Soler (born Mercedes Díaz Pavia; 19 November 1914 – 16 February 1971) was a Mexican American film actress of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. She appeared in over 20 films in her career. Early life Mercedes Soler was born in the United States as Mercedes Díaz Pavía on 19 November 1914 to Domingo Díaz García and Irene Pavía Soler, but was raised and lived in Mexico. She was the younger sister of Fernando Soler, Andrés Soler, Domingo Soler, and Julián Soler, a family known as the Soler Dynasty. Eva Garza (May 11, 1917 – November 1, 1966) was a Mexican-American singer and film actress who acquired international recognition in the 1940s and 1950s during the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. She collaborated on live radio shows and films with some of the leading performers of her time, including Mexico's Agustín Lara. She was nicknamed "Sweetheart of the Americas". Eduardo Alcaraz
Alfredo Vergara Morales (13 April 1915 – 18 April 1987), best known by the stage name Eduardo Alcaraz, was a Chilean-Mexican actor. Born in Santiago, he was based in Mexico since 1951. He appeared in films such as '' Escuela de rateros'' (1958) alongside Pedro Infante. He also worked as voice actor in many movies and cartoons. In 1949, while working at Radio Quito in Ecuador, he participated in an adaptation of ''The War of the Worlds'', similar to how Orson Welles had done a decade earlier in the United States. Alcaraz was in charge of the script of this new version, which like Welles's version represented the events narrated as if it were a true transmission. When it was revealed that it was a fictional story, a crowd made their way to the '' El Comercio'' newspaper building, where the radio worked, and set it on fire. Six people died.
