Womb (album)
''Womb'' (stylized in all caps) is the third studio album by Canadian electronic music duo Purity Ring. It was released through 4AD on April 3, 2020. It was preceded by the lead single "Stardew". The duo was scheduled to tour North America in support of the album from May to September 2020, but it was postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 lockdowns. Background Prior to the announcement of the album, the duo launched a website containing a hidden maze that revealed the song "Pink Lightning". A press release stated that the album "chronicles a quest for comfort and the search for a resting place in a world where so much is beyond our control". Purity Ring (band)
Purity Ring is a Canadian electronic pop band from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, formed in 2010. The band consists of multi-instrumentalist/producer Corin Roddick and vocalist Megan James. They released their debut album '' Shrines'' in 2012 to critical acclaim, followed by '' Another Eternity'' in 2015 and ''Womb'' in 2020. The band released an EP, ''Graves'', on June 3, 2022. Cecil Frena
Cecil Frena is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and pop music experimentalist. Previously, Frena made music under the name Gobble Gobble, before he made the change in 2011 to Born Gold. His first album, ''Bodysongs'', was released mid-2011. His second album, ''Little Sleepwalker'', was released the following year. His third album, ''I Am An Exit'', was released on 8 October 2013. On 31 August 2017, Cecil Frena announced the end of Born Gold, alongside the release of ''Unknow Yourself'' published under his own name. Mastering, a form of audio post production, is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master), the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or replication). In recent years digital masters have become usual, although analog masters—such as audio tapes—are still being used by the manufacturing industry, particularly by a few engineers who specialize in analog mastering. Mastering requires critical listening; however, software tools exist to facilitate the process. Results depend upon the intent of the engineer, the skills of the engineer, the accuracy of the speaker monitors, and the listening environment. Gregory Calbi (born April 3, 1949) is an American mastering engineer at Sterling Sound, New Jersey. Biography Greg Calbi was born on April 3, 1949, in Yonkers, New York, and raised in Bayside, Queens, New York. He graduated in 1966 from Bishop Reilly High School in Fresh Meadows. Calbi earned his bachelor's degree in Mass Communications at Fordham University where he studied with Marshall McLuhan and his staff for 3 of those years. He then earned his master's degree in Political Media Studies (Speech Department) at the University of Massachusetts. During these college years, Calbi drove a NYC cab and sold ladies shoes, and was intent on becoming a documentary filmmaker. B-side
The A-side and B-side are the two sides of phonograph records and cassettes; these terms have often been printed on the labels of two-sided music recordings. The A-side usually features a recording that its artist, producer, or record company intends to be the initial focus of promotional efforts and radio airplay and hopefully become a hit record. The B-side (or "flip-side") is a secondary recording that typically receives less attention, although some B-sides have been as successful as, or more so than, their A-sides. Jonas Bjerre Terkelsbøl (born 21 September 1976) is a musician and visual artist from Copenhagen, Denmark, best known as the lead singer of Danish rock band Mew. Bjerre creates animated videos for Mew's live shows.
