Wolin County
Wolin County was a county of Szczecin Voivodeship, in the Polish People's Republic. It comprised Wolin, the eastern part of Usedom, and other smaller surrounding islands. Its capital was Świnoujście. It existed from 1945 to 1973. District Of The Western Pomerania
The West Pomeranian District, also designated as the 3rd District, was a district of Poland, during the administration of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Poland in 1945, and the Provisional Government of National Unity from 1945 to 1946. It was established as one of four districts on 14 March 1945, as one of the four districts created to administer the area known as the Recovered Territories, acquired by Poland from Nazi Germany, during, and in the aftermath of World War 2. Wolin (town)
Wolin (Polish pronouciation: ; formerly german: Wollin) is a town in northwestern Poland, situated on the southern tip of the Wolin island off the Baltic coast of the historic region of Western Pomerania. The island lies at the edge of the strait of Dziwna in Kamień County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The town, now a fishing port and gateway to the island's bathing resorts, has a population of approximately 4,900. Wolin National Park
Wolin National Park ( pl, Woliński Park Narodowy) is one of 23 national parks in Poland, situated on the island of Wolin in the far north-west of the country, in West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It was established on 3 March 1960 and covers an area of . The park has its headquarters in the town of Międzyzdroje. The park contains a varied flora and fauna. A city with powiat rights ( pl, miasto na prawach powiatu) is in Poland a designation denoting 66 of the 107 cities (the urban gminas which are governed by a city mayor or ''prezydent miasta'') which exercise also the powers and duties of a county ( pl, powiat), thus being an independent city. Sometimes, such a city will also be referred to in Polish as city county ( pl, powiat grodzki); this term however is not official (it was used during the interwar times of the Second Polish Republic). The contemporary term ''city with powiat rights'' should not be used interchangeably with the interwar ''city county''. State Repatriation Office
Państwowy Urząd Repatriacyjny (abbreviated PUR, translated into English as State Repatriation Office, State Office of Repatriation, National Repatriation Office or National Office of Repatriation) was a Polish communist governmental body created by Polish Committee of National Liberation on 7 October 1944 to oversee the repatriations in Poland. At first, PUR oversaw repatriations of Poles from Kresy, and from 1945, expulsion of Germans from Regained Territories. Also, in 1945, PUR powers were limited, as some it its competences were transferred to the newly created post of the General Representative of the Government for Repatriation (Generalny Pełnomocnik Rządu do spraw Repatriacji).
