The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA; ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael ; CLG) is an Irish international amateur sporting and cultural organisation, focused primarily on promoting indigenous Gaelic games and pastimes, which include the traditional Irish sports of hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, Gaelic handball and rounders. Aaron Cunningham (hurler)
Aaron Cunningham (born 4 April 1993) is an Irish hurler who plays as a right corner-forward for the Clare senior team. Cunningham joined the team during the 2012 championship and immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen. A Munster medalist in the minor grade and a 3 time All-Ireland medalist in the under-21 grade, he has won a National Hurling League and All Ireland senior Championship medal at senior level. Brian O'Connell (born 17 February 1984) is an Irish former hurling, hurler and Manager (Gaelic Games), manager. At club level he played with Wolfe Tones na Sionna GAA, Wolfe Tones, and also lined out at inter-county level with various Clare GAA, Clare teams. O'Connell has been the Clare minor hurling team manager since 2021. Frank Lohan
Frank Lohan (born 1974 in Shannon, County Clare) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling with his adopted club Oranmore/Maree, on the outskirts of Galway city, and was a member of the Clare senior inter-county team from 1995 until 2008. Playing career Frank Lohan won his first Munster Senior Hurling Championship in 1995, as Clare defeated Limerick 1-17 to 0-11 in the final. The team then went on to win the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, a victory that made Lohan and his teammates heroes in County Clare - it was the county team's first All-Ireland senior win since 1914. Brian Lohan
Brian Lohan (born 14 November 1971) is an Irish hurling manager and former player who is the manager of the Clare senior hurling team. As a player, he is widely considered to be one of the greatest full-backs of all time. Born and raised in Shannon, County Clare, Lohan began his hurling career at club level with Wolfe Tones. After much success at underage levels, he eventually broke on the club's senior team and enjoyed his greatest success in 1996 when he captained the team to the Munster Club Championship. Lohan also won two Clare Club Championships during his career. Lohan lined out for Clare in two different grades of hurling over a 14-year period. The Clare Junior A Football Championship (abbreviated to Clare JAFC) is an annual Gaelic football club competition organised by the Clare County Board of the GAA for clubs below the Intermediate and Senior grades. It is contested by the top-ranking Junior clubs in County Clare, Ireland. It is the third-tier adult competition of the Clare football pyramid. Féile Na NGael
Féile na nGael (; Irish for "Festival of the Gaels") is an annual tournament comprising the sports of hurling, camogie and handball organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. Its stated aim is to bond communities, forge friendships, provide educational opportunities and unearth new leaders. The competition hosts approximately 25,000 boys and girls each year with all 32 of Ireland's Gaelic games counties represented along with teams from London and Warwickshire. Féile na nGael states that its primary objective is to facilitate and enable personal, social and cultural development amongst young people with emphasis on cultural and community activities, leadership and training through sport. Shannon () or Shannon Town (), named after the river near which it stands, is a town in County Clare, Ireland. It was given town status on 1 January 1982. The town is located just off the N19 road, a spur of the N18/M18 road between Limerick and Ennis. It is the location of Shannon Airport, an international airport serving the Clare/Limerick region in the west of Ireland. History Shannon is a new town.
