Wolf (Tyler, The Creator Album)
''Wolf'' is the second studio album by American rapper and record producer Tyler, the Creator. It was released on April 2, 2013, by Odd Future Records. The album features guest appearances from Mike G, Domo Genesis, Earl Sweatshirt, Left Brain, Hodgy Beats, Erykah Badu and Pharrell, among others. ''Wolf'' was supported by its lead single, " Domo23". The album received generally positive reviews from critics and debuted at number three on the US ''Billboard'' 200, selling 89,000 copies in its first week. Background Tyler's two prior projects, ''Bastard'' and ''Goblin'', contained lyrics and themes commonly used in the horrorcore subgenre, which Tyler claimed to not be part of. Tyler Gregory Okonma (born March 6, 1991), known professionally as Tyler, the Creator, is an American rapper and record producer. He is one of the founding members of the music collective Odd Future. Okonma self-released his debut mixtape Bastard (Tyler, the Creator mixtape), ''Bastard'' in 2009 and rapidly gained attention among the online music press for his horrorcore-influenced sound and violent, transgressive art, transgressive lyrical content. Trap Music
Trap is a subgenre of hip hop music that originated in the Southern United States during the 1990s. The genre gets its name from the Atlanta slang word "trap", a house used exclusively to sell drugs. Trap music uses synthesized drums and is characterized by complex hi-hat patterns, tuned kick drums with a long decay (originally from the Roland TR-808 drum machine), and lyrical content that often focuses on drug use and urban violence. It utilizes very few instruments and focuses almost exclusively on snare drums and double- or triple-timed hi-hats.
