Wolcott is a census-designated place (CDP) comprising the central community in the town of Wolcott, Lamoille County, Vermont, United States. The CDP was first drawn for the 2020 census. Hardwick is the primary village and a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Hardwick, Caledonia County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 census, the CDP had a population of 1,269, out of 2,920 in the entire town of Hardwick. Hardwick village is in western Caledonia County, in the southern part of the town of Hardwick. Morrisville is a village in the town of Morristown, Lamoille County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 census, the village population was 2,086. Morrisville has two country clubs, a hospital, a school featuring Greek architecture and an airport. Morrisville is the headquarters for Union Bank. History Morrisville was settled in 1798. The Morrisville Historic District is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The hospital and one of the country clubs are named after Alexander Copley, a philanthropist who donated much of the money for their construction. Vermont Route 15 (VT 15) is a east–west state highway in northern Vermont, United States. Its western terminus is at U.S. Route 2 (US 2) and US 7 in Winooski and its eastern terminus is at US 2 in Danville. It is known as the Grand Army of the Republic Highway, a designation shared nationally with U.S. Route 6. Lamoille River
The Lamoille River is a river which runs through northern Vermont and drains into Lake Champlain. It is about in length, and has a drainage area of around . The river generally flows southwest, and then northwest, from the water divide of the Green Mountains. It is the namesake of Lamoille County, Vermont, through which it flows. The river was the basis of the name of the now-defunct Lamoille Valley Railroad Company, successor to the St. Johnsbury and Lamoille County Railroad. Legend has it that early French settlers named the river ''La Mouette,'' meaning "The Seagull". However, a cartographer forgot to cross the t's, which led people to begin calling it ''La Moulle''.
