Wojciech Załuski
Wojciech Załuski (born 5 April 1960) is a Polish prelate of the Catholic Church who has worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See since 1985. He has been an apostolic nuncio and an archbishop since 2014. Biography He was born in Załuski-Lipniewo, in the center-east of Poland, on 5 April 1960. He earned a degree in canon law. On 1 June 1985, he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Łomza. He joined the diplomatic service of the Holy See on 1 July 1989 and filled assignments in Burundi, Malta, Albania, Zambia, Sri Lanka, Georgia, Ukraine, the Philippines, and Guatemala. On 15 July 2014, Pope Francis named him apostolic nuncio to Burundi and titular archbishop of Diocletiana. He received his episcopal consecration on 9 August from Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State. Apostolic Nuncio To Malaysia
The Apostolic Nunciature to Malaysia is the diplomatic mission of the Holy See to Malaysia, equivalent to an embassy. It is located at 17 Jalan Ampang Hilir, Kuala Lumpur. The Delegation to Malaysia was raised to the rank of Nunciature to Malaysia on 27 July 2011, when Malaysia became the 179th state to establish diplomatic relations with the Holy See. Titular Archbishop
A titular bishop in various churches is a bishop who is not in charge of a diocese. By definition, a bishop is an "overseer" of a community of the faithful, so when a priest is ordained a bishop, the tradition of the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox churches is that he be ordained for a specific place. There are more bishops than there are functioning dioceses. Roman Catholic Diocese Of Łomża
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Łomża ( la, Lomzen(sis)) is a diocese located in the city of Łomża in the Ecclesiastical province of Białystok in Poland. History On March 25, 1798 it was established as Diocese of Sejny/Augustów, from the Diocese of Wigry. Its territory had formerly belonged to the Diocese of Vilna, but after the first partition of Poland it fell to Prussia. Pope Pius VI carved out the new diocese and established its see at the Camaldolese monastery of Wigry, in a village about ten miles east of Suwałki. The monastery had been founded under the patronage of King Władysław II Jagiełło in 1418, and the Church of Our Lady, which became the cathedral, became the parish church of Wigry.
