Witold Leon Czartoryski
Prince Witold Leon Karol Adam Jarosław Jerzy Czartoryski (10 February 1864 – 6 September 1945) was a Polish noble (szlachcic) and landowner. He served as the general commissar of Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria, Galicia and Lodomeria from the end of Russian occupation in 1917 to full incorporation as part of Poland on 1 November 1918. He was a hereditary member of the Austrian House of Lords (Imperial Council (Austria)#House of Lords, Herrenhaus) from 1908 and an elected Senator of the Second Polish Republic, Polish Republic (1922–28) Witold became owner of Pełkinie, Wiązownica, Konarzewo, Poznań County, Konarzewo, Byliny estates in Poland and Weinhaus in Vienna. Prince Adam Michał Czartoryski (1906–1998) was a Polish noble ( szlachcic) of the Czartoryski magnate. Adam became a Master Engineer, forester and Doctor of Biology. He entered the Polish Army and was promoted to the rank of captain in the Invasion of Poland, later becoming a member of the Armia Krajowa (pseudonym "Szpak"). He was owner of the Głuszyn, Babki and Wigry estates. He married Countess Jadwiga Tekla Stadnicka on 24 June 1937 in Nowojowa Castle. Prince Jan Franciszek Czartoryski or Blessed Michał (19 February 1897–6 September 1944) was a Polish noble, and a Dominican friar. John Czartoryski was born in Pelkinie (Jaroslaw) on 19 February 1897. He was an activist of the young organisation "Odrodzenie" ("Rebirth") in Lwów. Kazimierz (; la, Casimiria; yi, קוזמיר, Kuzimyr) is a historical district of Kraków and Kraków Old Town, Poland. From its inception in the 14th century to the early 19th century, Kazimierz was an independent city, a royal city of the Crown of the Polish Kingdom, located south of the Old Town of Kraków, separated from it by a branch of the Vistula river. For many centuries, Kazimierz was a place where ethnic Polish and Jewish cultures coexisted and intermingled. The northeastern part of the district was historically Jewish. In 1941, the Jews of Kraków were forcibly relocated by the German occupying forces into the Krakow ghetto just across the river in Podgórze, and most did not survive the war.
