''With Love'' is a studio album by France, French singer Amanda Lear, released in 2006 by Dance Street. The album is a collection of cover version, covers of songs previously performed by other female vocalists. Background The album was recorded at Blue Sound Studio in Levallois-Perret and LR Studio in Villeneuve between May and August 2006. It contains covers of evergreens and jazz standards by the disco diva's own favourite divas, among them Eartha Kitt, Dalida, Peggy Lee, Mae West, Nina Simone, Marlene Dietrich and Juliette Gréco. The album came five years after the album ''Heart (Amanda Lear album), Heart'', on which Lear covered three evergreens: "Hier Encore", "The Look of Love (1967 song), The Look of Love" and "Lili Marleen", and only a year after her covers compilation ''Sings Evergreens''. Amanda Lear (; born 1939) is a French singer, songwriter, painter, television presenter, actress, and former model. She began her professional career as a fashion model in the mid-1960s, and went on to model for Paco Rabanne, Ossie Clark, and others. She met Spanish surrealist painter Salvador Dalí, and remained his closest friend and muse for the next 15 years. Lear first came into the public eye as the cover model for Roxy Music's album ''For Your Pleasure'' in 1973. From the mid-1970s to the early 1980s, she was a million-album-selling disco queen, mainly in Continental Europe and Scandinavia, signed to Ariola Records. Richard Adler (August 3, 1921 – June 21, 2012) was an American lyricist, writer, composer and producer of several Broadway shows. Life and career Adler was born in New York City, the son of Elsa Adrienne (née Richard) and Clarence Adler. His mother was a debutante from Mobile, Alabama. Adler had a musical upbringing, his father being a renowned Jewish concert pianist, as well as teacher of such composers as Aaron Copland. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1943 and served in the U.S. Naval Reserve during World War II. Cole Albert Porter (June 9, 1891 – October 15, 1964) was an American composer and songwriter. Many of his songs became standards noted for their witty, urbane lyrics, and many of his scores found success on Broadway and in film. Born to a wealthy family in Indiana, Porter defied his grandfather's wishes for him to practice law and took up music as a profession. Classically trained, he was drawn to musical theatre. After a slow start, he began to achieve success in the 1920s, and by the 1930s he was one of the major songwriters for the Broadway musical stage. Background ''A L'' was released by minor Italian label Five Records, closely related to Canale 5, when Lear was at the peak of her television career in Italy.
