Wisconsin State Highway 68
State Trunk Highway 68 (often called Highway 68, STH-68 or WIS 68) is a state highway in Dodge County in the US state of Wisconsin that runs from WIS 33 in Fox Lake east to WIS 49 in Waupun. WIS 68 is maintained by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT). Route description WIS 68 begins at a junction with WIS 33 at the corner of East State Street and Spring Street in downtown Fox Lake. The highway heads east as State Street, running concurrently with County Trunk Highway A (CTH-A) and CTH-C. Heading three blocks west past Fireman's Park on the east side of the city, WIS 68 turns northeast on Waupun Street to East Hamilton Street. East State Street continues southeast out of the city, carrying the two county highways. WIS 68 continues northeastward through farmland, briefly passing through the Town of Fox Lake before entering the Town of Trenton. Fox Lake is a city in Dodge County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,519 at the 2010 census. The city is located within the Town of Fox Lake. History Established in 1838, Fox Lake was the first settlement in Dodge County. The first inhabitants were Winnebago Indians who had named the area "Hosh-a-rac-ah-tah", meaning "good land". The area was later named Fox Lake, either in honor of a Winnebago Indian named Big Fox who saved a lost trapper or for the English translation of the Indian name of the town. Wisconsin Highway 49
State Trunk Highway 49 (often called Highway 49, STH-49 or WIS 49) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It runs north–south in central and southeast Wisconsin from Wittenberg to Lomira. The highway was initially designated in 1917, but it had not been extended to its current length until the 1950s. Route description WIS 49 begins at an interchange with Interstate 41 (I-41) north of Lomira and runs west from it, passing through Brownsville before curving to the north to meet the Dodge- Fond du Lac county line. When two roadways share the same right-of-way, it is sometimes called a common section or commons.
