Route description Melrose to Sparta WIS 71 begins at an intersection with WIS 54 in the southern part of the Village of Melrose in the Town of Melrose, Jackson County; the junction is also the northern terminus of WIS 108. With a few brief exceptions, WIS 71 is almost entirely a two-lane road and, except for the communities through which it passes, WIS 71 runs through rural agricultural land.
