State Trunk Highway 24 (often called Highway 24, STH-24 or WIS 24) is a state highway in southwestern Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, in the United States. The route is a multi-lane urban arterial that serves the suburbs of West Allis, Greenfield and Hales Corners, and follows Janesville Road and West Forest Home Avenue. Route description The highway's western terminus is at the Waukesha County line in Hales Corners. West of the county line the route is signed as County Trunk Highway L (CTH-L). The highway crosses 108th street, which carries U.S. Highway 45/ Wisconsin Highway 100 (US 45/WIS 100), east of the county line. The section of WIS 24 between the county line and 108th Street is Janesville Road. The remainder of the highway follows West Forest Home Avenue. Hales Corners, Wisconsin
Hales Corners is a village in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 7,692 at the 2010 census. History The land in the area that would eventually encompass the Village was first claimed as French, then British, and eventually as the Northwest Territory of the United States in 1783. It was the land of the Potawatomi Indians until they were forced to move from their land in 1838. They were the dominant tribe in southeast Wisconsin with large villages. Like the Europeans that arrived later, they planted crops, but theirs were beans, squash, and corn. By engaging in the fur trade, the Potawatomi learned to speak French and English, and they eventually intermarried with the Europeans. During the 1830s and 1840s, more settlers arrived, starting with a number of New England families. Among them were three Hale families, whose lineage has been charted to England in the 1200s. State Trunk Highway 27 (often called Highway 27, STH-27 or WIS 27) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The highway spans a length of and is generally two-lane local road with the exception of urban multilane arterials within some cities. Earlier routing of the highway had it reaching Superior along the present US 53 and Fennimore along the present US 61 and following I-94 between Black River Falls and Osseo. Route description In southern Crawford County, WIS 27 begins at a junction with US 18, WIS 60 and WIS 35 in Prairie du Chien. State Trunk Highway 20 (often called Highway 20, STH-20 or WIS 20) is a state highway in Walworth and Racine counties in southeastern Wisconsin, United States. The route is a short connector that bridges the city of Whitewater and points west via U.S. Highway 12 (US 12) with East Troy, Waterford and Racine. WIS 20 is a two-lane surface road with various four-lane roads within cities.
