The 82nd Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in southeast Wisconsin, the district comprises parts of southwest Milwaukee County and southeast Waukesha County. It includes most of the city of Franklin, the southern half of the city of Muskego, and much of the village of Greendale. Jeff Stone (Wisconsin Politician)
Jeff Stone (born January 28, 1961) is an American businessman and former politician. A Republican Party (United States), Republican, he was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1998 through 2013. Biography Stone was born in Topeka, Kansas. He was raised in Zanesville, Ohio, and graduated from West Muskingum High School before returning to Topeka to attend Washburn University. He graduated from that institution in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and history, magna cum laude. State and local politics After moving to Wisconsin, Stone served in the city council of Greenfield, Wisconsin, from 1994 to 1998. Racine County (, sometimes also ) is a county in southeastern Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, its population was 197,727, making it Wisconsin's fifth-most populous county. Its county seat is Racine. The county was founded in 1836, then a part of the Wisconsin Territory. Racine County comprises the Racine metropolitan statistical area. Outagamie County is a county in the northeast region of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 190,705. Its county seat is Appleton. Outagamie County is included in the Appleton, WI Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Appleton- Neenah- Oshkosh, WI Combined Statistical Area. It was named for the historic Meskwaki (Fox) Indians. Calumet County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 52,442. The county seat is Chilton. The county was created in 1836 (then in the Wisconsin Territory) and organized in 1850. Chilton, Wisconsin
Chilton is a city in and county seat of Calumet County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 4,080 at the 2020 census. The city is located partially within the Town of Chilton. History The first residents of Chilton were African-American former slave Moses Stanton and his Native-American wife, Catherine, who arrived in January 1845. The city formed around his saw mill and a grist mill a few years later. The village was originally called Stantonville. John Marygold bought the place in 1852 and called it "Chilington," referring to Chillington Hall in England. He sent a verbal message to have the name change recorded in Stockbridge, then the county seat. Because the middle ''ing'' in the name was accidentally omitted, the municipality was recorded as Chilton. Gervase Hephner
Gervase Andrew Hephner (February 5, 1936 – June 26, 2011) was a Wisconsin politician and legislator. He was a member of the Wisconsin Assembly, serving the 6th District from 1967 until 1986.Wisconsin Blue Book, 1981-82 Edition, ''Members of the State Legislature'', Page 25. Background Born in Rantoul, Wisconsin, Hephner attended St. Norbert College, and later graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh in 1960. Hales Corners, Wisconsin
Hales Corners is a village in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 7,692 at the 2010 census. History The land in the area that would eventually encompass the Village was first claimed as French, then British, and eventually as the Northwest Territory of the United States in 1783. It was the land of the Potawatomi Indians until they were forced to move from their land in 1838. They were the dominant tribe in southeast Wisconsin with large villages. Like the Europeans that arrived later, they planted crops, but theirs were beans, squash, and corn. By engaging in the fur trade, the Potawatomi learned to speak French and English, and they eventually intermarried with the Europeans.
